Airport limo Toronto is not one trip but five. Most travellers use Toronto Pearson, a few use the island airport downtown, and a growing number of price-conscious flyers drive to Hamilton, Waterloo Region or across the border to Buffalo. Each airport has a different pickup routine, a different distance from the city and a different kind of delay waiting for you. This guide compares them honestly, tells you what a chauffeur does at each, and shows when a train or a rideshare is the better pick.
Which airport should I use with an airport limo in Toronto?
Use Pearson (YYZ) for the widest choice of flights, Billy Bishop (YTZ) for short hops from downtown, Hamilton (YHM) or Waterloo (YKF) when your airline flies from there, and Buffalo (BUF) only if you accept a border crossing for lower fares.
The choice is usually made by your ticket, not by us. Once the flight is booked, the job is to get there on time with the right vehicle, and the booker handles every one of these airports. Enter your pickup address, the airport and your flight details, and it returns the exact fixed fare before you pay.
The five airports at a glance

| Airport | Where | From downtown Toronto (approx.) | Typical drive | Choose it when |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Toronto Pearson (YYZ) | Mississauga, northwest of the city | About 27 km | 30 to 50 minutes | Widest route map, international flights, transborder connections |
| Billy Bishop (YTZ) | Island airport at the foot of Bathurst Street | About 3 km | 10 to 15 minutes | Downtown start or finish, short domestic hops |
| Hamilton (YHM) | Mount Hope, south of Hamilton | About 75 to 90 km | 60 to 80 minutes | Your airline flies there; Niagara or Hamilton destination |
| Waterloo (YKF) | Breslau, beside Highway 401 | About 90 to 100 km | 70 to 90 minutes | Your airline flies there; Kitchener-Waterloo or Guelph destination |
| Buffalo (BUF) | Cheektowaga, New York | About 160 to 175 km | 2 to 2.5 hours plus border | Lower fares and US routes, if you accept the crossing |
All distances are approximate road distances from the downtown core; your pickup address changes them, which is why the booker prices the actual route rather than a zone.
Toronto Pearson airport limo: the main event
Pearson is where most airport limo Toronto bookings begin. It has two passenger terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, and your airline determines which one you use. Your chauffeur follows your flight number, not your guess, so a gate change or a late arrival does not strand you. Pearson is about 27 km from Union Station, and the road time is typically 30 to 50 minutes.
Pre-arranged chauffeurs do not queue at the kerb with taxis. Pearson maintains a designated area for pre-arranged ground transportation at each terminal, and your confirmation message names the exact meeting point. The full terminal-by-terminal procedure is on our Pearson airport limo page, including customs timing and routes to the GTA, Ottawa and Montréal.
If you only need a downtown hotel and travel light, the UP Express train is a real alternative. The operator's website quotes 28 minutes from the airport to Union Station. We would take it ourselves with one bag and a downtown destination.
Billy Bishop (YTZ): short, scenic and unusual
Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport is at 2 Eireann Quay and sits on the island just off the foot of Bathurst Street. Two features make it unusual for a limo booking. First, nobody drives onto the island: you cross by an 853-foot pedestrian tunnel with four moving walkways, or by a ferry that the airport's ferry page describes as a crossing of about 90 seconds across the Western Gap, leaving every 15 minutes from the foot of Bathurst Street. As of 2026, the airport lists the ferry as free for pedestrians.

Second, that means the chauffeur meets you on the mainland side, not at the aircraft door. The airport's tunnel page notes that the mainland entrance is inside the mainland pavilion, and your pickup details tell you where the car will be. Luggage is wheeled, not carried, so a family with several large bags may prefer an SUV waiting at the Eireann Quay side.
The airport states that it serves more than 20 cities in Canada and the U.S., and Porter is among the airlines named on its site. Our dedicated page on Billy Bishop airport limo covers the details.
Hamilton John C. Munro (YHM) by chauffeur
Hamilton's airport address is 9300 Airport Road at Mount Hope, and the airport's own website lists Porter, WestJet and Air Canada. Its flight board changes by season, so check the schedule before you decide to use it. From Pearson the drive is roughly 65 to 80 km and takes about 45 to 70 minutes; from downtown Toronto it is closer to 75 to 90 km and an hour or more.
Hamilton makes sense when your airline flies from there and your destination is Hamilton, Burlington, Niagara or the western GTA. It makes less sense if you live in Scarborough, because the drive across the whole city eats the time you hoped to save. Early flights deserve extra margin on the QEW and the 403. The airport page covers Hamilton airport limo in more depth.
Region of Waterloo International (YKF)
Waterloo Region's airport is at 1-4881 Fountain Street North in Breslau, and the airport's own site lists Flair Airlines, Sunwing, WestJet and Air Canada as partners and describes itself as about 45 minutes west of Toronto alongside Highway 401. That description is optimistic for a rush-hour trip from the city centre, so plan an hour or more door to door, with longer allowances on weekday afternoons.

YKF fits Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge and Guelph travellers, and anyone for whom Pearson means a long drive on the 401. If you are leaving from the GTA, compare the hours: a shorter queue at a small airport does not always beat a direct flight from Pearson. See Waterloo airport limo for pickup details.
Buffalo Niagara (BUF): the border-crossing airport
Buffalo attracts Ontario travellers because its fares and US routes can undercut Canadian airports. The airport is at 4200 Genesee Street, and its website has a section for Canadian travellers and lists limousines among its ground transportation options. The trip from Toronto is about 160 to 175 km, usually two to two and a half hours before the border, and the crossing is part of the journey.
Three Niagara-region crossings serve travellers, and the CBSA's border wait times page shows the live estimates for the Peace Bridge, the Queenston-Lewiston Bridge and the Rainbow Bridge, which is for travellers only. The Peace Bridge, at 100 Queen Street in Fort Erie, publishes that it has a NEXUS lane on each side and that tolls are collected Canada-bound only. Check the crossing in real time before you leave and choose the shortest line.
Documents matter more than anything else. The Government of Canada's guidance on entering the US states that citizens aged 16 and older need a valid passport or a trusted traveller card for land crossings, and a passport or NEXUS for air travel. Children have separate options. Carry yours in your hand luggage, not in the boot. For the complete picture, see Toronto to Buffalo airport, the Buffalo airport limo page and our cross-border limo guide.
What a chauffeur does on every airport pickup
Whichever airport you choose, the routine has the same spine.

- Your flight number is entered at booking, and dispatch tracks the aircraft from departure.
- A chauffeur is assigned and positioned for the actual arrival time, not the scheduled one.
- On international arrivals we include 60 minutes of free waiting after landing; on domestic arrivals it is 30 minutes.
- A name-board meet-and-greet inside arrivals is available as an add-on, useful for first-time visitors and for passengers who need help with luggage.
- Child, toddler and booster seats are fitted when requested at booking.
The point is that your pickup does not depend on a phone call from the carousel. For more about the add-on, see airport meet and greet and car service with car seat.
Getting from the airport to downtown: honest alternatives
An airport limo is not always the best answer. This table covers a typical Pearson-to-downtown trip, with the cost described qualitatively.
| Option | Time to downtown | Cost note | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| UP Express train | About 28 minutes to Union Station (operator) | Lowest | Solo traveller, one or two bags, downtown destination |
| TTC and transit | Longer, with transfers | Lowest | Light luggage, time to spare |
| Taxi rank | 30 to 50 minutes by road | Meter plus extras | Walk-up convenience, no booking needed |
| Rideshare | Road time plus waiting for a car | Meter-like with surge | Short trips outside peak hours |
| Hotel shuttle | Varies by hotel | Often included | Guests of hotels that run one |
| Rental car | Road time plus parking | Variable | Multi-day trips beyond the city |
| Private chauffeur | 30 to 50 minutes by road, no queue | Fixed fare via booker | Families, groups, formal arrivals, early flights |
GO Transit also serves the region, and its website shows the rail and bus network from Union Station. A bus or train can be the cheapest way to cover the western GTA or Hamilton, but it costs you flexibility with bags.
Timing your pickup: what changes the clock
For international flights, allow time to clear immigration and customs; busy arrival banks can be slow, which is why we include a long waiting window rather than a short one. For departures, leave earlier on Friday afternoons, long weekends and the first day of school holidays, when the 401, 427 and Gardiner jam. The 401 near the Highway 427 merge is the choke point; a Friday 4 pm start toward Pearson or a Sunday-evening return can add well beyond the quoted time.
Winter changes the plan again. Snow squalls on the QEW and 403 can stretch a Hamilton or Buffalo run, and a Luxury SUV is often the sensible choice when roads are poor.
Which vehicle for which airport trip
- Executive Sedan: up to 3 passengers, two large and two carry-on bags. The standard for solo and pair airport runs.
- Luxury SUV: up to 6 passengers and five to six large bags. Families, ski bags, winter.
- Executive Sprinter: 12 to 14 seats and a dozen or more cases. Teams, delegations, wedding parties.
For hourly group vehicles, such as a stretch limousine or party bus for arrivals, availability and the exact vehicle are confirmed at booking. Our fleet page shows the classes together.
Fixed fares, not guesses
The site shows distances and drive times, and the booker shows prices. Enter the airport and your address, and the exact fare for your vehicle appears before you pay. It is fixed for the trip as booked, with the 60 or 30 minutes of waiting already accounted for on arrivals. Nothing is added at the kerb. For wider context on what we offer in the city, see limo service Toronto.
Cancellations
Cancellation is measured from the scheduled pickup time. More than 72 hours' notice is free; 72 hours or less costs 10%; 48 hours or less costs 50%; 24 hours or less, or a no-show, costs 100%.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best airport limo in Toronto?
The best airport limo Toronto offers is a pre-booked chauffeur who tracks your flight, waits after landing and quotes a fixed fare in advance. Booking direct through the online booker shows the exact fare for your address before you commit.
How far is Pearson airport from downtown Toronto?
About 27 km to Union Station, and a car usually needs 30 to 50 minutes. Billy Bishop is far closer to the core, about 3 km from Union Station.
How much is a limo from Pearson to downtown Toronto?
The booker shows the exact fixed fare for your pickup address, vehicle class and time. We do not print rate cards, because the fare depends on those details.
