Not every private aircraft headed for Montréal lands at Trudeau. Montréal Saint-Hubert (YHU), in the Saint-Hubert borough of Longueuil on the South Shore, is a business-aviation field in its own right, and for passengers whose day is on the South Shore, in the Eastern Townships or on the road to the United States it can be the more sensible place to land. This page explains how TorontoBlackLimousine.net runs Saint-Hubert pickups, what two FBOs on the field say about themselves, how long the main drives take and when Trudeau is the better choice.
Everything is booked with our Toronto dispatch and the online booker, which prices the trip by address and vehicle. French and English service is available in Québec.
Why would a private flight land at Saint-Hubert instead of Trudeau?
Because the destination is on the South Shore, in the Eastern Townships or on the road south to the United States. From Saint-Hubert you reach those without crossing the island. Downtown Montréal is still about 17 km away, usually 25 to 45 minutes.
The choice between the two airports is less about prestige than geography. Look at where the passengers need to be in the first two hours:
- Downtown Montréal or the Palais des congrès: both airports work. Trudeau is about 19 km from the centre, Saint-Hubert about 17 km, and the river crossings decide which is faster on the day.
- Brossard, Longueuil, Boucherville or the Richelieu valley: Saint-Hubert is usually the shorter drive.
- Bromont, Granby or Magog: Saint-Hubert is the natural gateway to Highway 10.
- Laval, the North Shore and the Laurentians: Trudeau is generally closer.
- Ottawa and Gatineau: Trudeau, which sits on the west side of the island.
If your flight department has the choice, ask where the first meeting is rather than where the hotel is. We are happy to advise on drive times for both fields; the desk can compare them for your address.
The FBOs on the field: HUB FBO and Lux FBO
Two operators publish their own sites for Saint-Hubert:

- HUB FBO describes itself as a fixed-base operator "located at YHU", using the name Montreal MET Airport. Its site lists ground handling for aircraft from single-engine piston planes to executive jets, concierge services for passengers and clients, trip-planning help, office and hangar rental, and 24/7 telephone service. It does not publish a street address or customs arrangements on the page we opened.
- Lux FBO lists Montréal Saint-Hubert and Québec City as its two locations on its own site, where it presents private-jet charter and aircraft maintenance alongside ground services. The page we opened gives phone numbers for each location but no address, opening hours or customs details.
We deliberately do not give an address, hours or customs claim for either operator beyond what they publish. Call the operator, or ask your flight department, and then tell us which FBO you are using so the chauffeur goes to the correct door. We confirm with the operator how close the car may stage; whether a car may proceed to the aircraft is decided by the FBO and the airport's security rules, not by us.
Customs at Saint-Hubert: what to confirm before you fly
International arrivals have to be cleared by the Canada Border Services Agency, and the agency's general aviation page sets out the rules. For flights with 15 people or fewer, crew included, the pilot reports by telephone at least two hours and no more than 48 hours before arriving, and must land at an approved airport of entry. After landing the pilot reports again, and nobody leaves the aircraft until authorized.
Because neither FBO page we opened describes customs arrangements, treat this as a question to settle before departure. Your charter operator or flight department should confirm with the CBSA that the airfield you plan to use can clear your flight at the time you plan to arrive. If it cannot, Trudeau's FBOs list customs clearance on their own sites; see our Montréal-Trudeau FBO page. A domestic flight, for example from Toronto, Ottawa or Québec City, does not involve this step.
For our part, domestic arrivals include 30 minutes of free waiting after landing and international arrivals 60. We follow the flight and keep the chauffeur on site until your passengers are in the car.
From Saint-Hubert to downtown Montréal and the main venues
Distances below are rounded road distances for planning. The usual pinch points are the river crossings in peak hours: inbound mornings, outbound late afternoons, and any day when a lane is closed for work.

| From Saint-Hubert (YHU) to | Distance (about) | Typical drive time | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Place Ville Marie, downtown Montréal | 17 km | 25–45 min | River crossing decides the range |
| Palais des congrès, rue Saint-Antoine Ouest | 16 km | 25–45 min | Place-d'Armes metro station is the listed connection |
| Old Montréal and the Old Port | 17 km | 25–45 min | Narrow streets; the last block is on foot |
| Quartier DIX30, Brossard | 13 km | 20–30 min | Shopping and dining district on the South Shore |
| Montréal-Trudeau (YUL) | 34 km | 45–70 min | Across the island to Dorval |
| Bromont | 82 km | 65–90 min | Highway 10 east |
| Lacolle–Champlain border area | 75 km | 65–90 min | Border wait is extra |
| Mont-Tremblant village | 160 km | 2 h 15 – 3 h | Heads north around the island |
| Québec City, Old Québec | 240 km | 3–3.5 h | Highway 20 or 40 |
Add the time for luggage and a hotel hand-off at the other end. For a downtown address not in the table, the booker gives an exact distance and fare.
Brossard, Longueuil and the South Shore
Saint-Hubert's immediate neighbourhood is residential Longueuil. Quartier DIX30, on the Brossard side, bills itself as a shopping, dining and entertainment destination, and is about 13 km from the airfield. For a day of corporate hospitality or a family shopping trip, an hourly Sprinter or Luxury SUV is easier than coordinating several rideshares.
Our page for Longueuil, Brossard and the South Shore covers the neighbourhood, and our Montréal limo service page covers the island. If you work out of the South Shore regularly, ask the desk about corporate car service accounts.
The Eastern Townships and the wine and ski routes
Saint-Hubert is the natural airfield for Bromont, Granby, Magog and the rest of the Eastern Townships. Bromont is about 82 km from the field, usually 65 to 90 minutes; the more distant lake and ski destinations add time. Our Eastern Townships page explains the regional geography, Montréal to the Eastern Townships covers the route and the Brome-Missisquoi wine route day is a ready-made itinerary.

For a vineyard day, remember that a chauffeur means you can taste without driving; alcohol rules in Québec follow provincial law and are confirmed at booking, and we do not promise drinks on board.
Tremblant and the Laurentians from the South Shore
Mont-Tremblant's village is about 160 km from Saint-Hubert, usually 2 hours 15 minutes to 3 hours, because the route has to get around or across the island before heading north. If your aircraft lands at Trudeau instead, the same trip is about 135 km. Choose the field that suits the rest of the day.
A Luxury SUV (up to six passengers, five to six large bags) works for a ski party of four. For a group with equipment, an Executive Sprinter (12 to 14 passengers, 12 or more bags) is the more comfortable arrangement. See limo service in Mont-Tremblant and the Montréal to Mont-Tremblant route for the resort end of the run, and our Tremblant ski-season guide for peak-weekend timing.
Heading south: the road to the United States
The South Shore is also the start of the road to the U.S. border. The Lacolle–Champlain area is about 75 km from the airfield; from there the route continues into New York State. The border wait is a separate variable, and every passenger needs valid travel documents, such as a passport or a NEXUS card where eligible.
Our Montréal to New York City, Montréal to Boston and Montréal to Burlington pages cover those routes, and the Plattsburgh airport page explains when a nearby U.S. airport is the better choice. Our Canadian-based cars handle international trips only, with no local point-to-point rides inside the United States.
Planning an out-and-back day from Saint-Hubert
A common pattern is a morning arrival, a day of meetings and an evening departure from the same field. The chauffeur waits for you at the FBO, drives to the first appointment, stays on an hourly booking between stops and returns you to the aircraft with time to spare. Two details make the day work.
First, set the return pickup time from the aircraft's departure slot, not from the end of the last meeting. Work backwards: the drive, the luggage hand-off at the FBO and a margin for the river crossings. Second, tell us where the aircraft is parked and whether the crew expects passengers at a particular time, so the car is not waiting at the wrong door when the pilot wants to leave. If the schedule slips, the desk adjusts the booking rather than starting again.
Which vehicle for a Saint-Hubert pickup?

- Executive Sedan: up to three passengers, two large and two carry-on bags.
- Luxury SUV: up to six passengers, five to six large bags.
- Executive Sprinter: 12 to 14 passengers, 12 or more bags.
- Stretch limousine (eight to ten, hourly) and mini-coach or party bus (20 to 30, hourly): availability and the exact vehicle are confirmed at booking.
Child, toddler and booster seats are provided when requested at booking. See the fleet page for each class.
Your options from Saint-Hubert, compared honestly
| Option | Time to downtown | Cost note | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chauffeured black car booked with us | 25–45 min | Fixed fare via booker, quoted before you book | Groups, luggage, tight schedules, South Shore or Townships destinations |
| FBO concierge, courtesy car or rental | Varies | Set by the operator or the rental company | Self-drive travellers who can wait for a vehicle |
| Taxi or rideshare | 25–50 min plus wait | Meter plus surge at peak | One traveller, light bags, flexible timing |
| Public transit to the South Shore terminals | Longer, with transfers | Lowest | Commercial travellers with time to spare; check current schedules |
| Land at Trudeau instead | Depends on destination | Depends on the FBO | Laval, Laurentians, Ottawa or a flight from abroad that must clear customs |
When the first meeting is flexible and you have one bag, a rideshare is cheaper than a chauffeured car. The advantage of booking ahead is a vehicle sized to the group and a driver who has the correct FBO door. The advantage of Trudeau is its published customs help.
Winter, bridges and event weekends
The Saint-Hubert approach is simple; the bridges are not. Winter storms and Friday-afternoon departures from downtown slow every crossing at once. We build extra margin into winter transfers and ask you to tell us the aircraft's latest time, not the optimistic one.
On the Montréal event calendar, plan around Grand Prix weekend and Bell Centre game nights, when the downtown streets fill. Our convention-centre guide covers Palais drop-offs.
How to book a Saint-Hubert pickup

Frequently asked questions
How much is a car from Saint-Hubert airport to downtown Montréal?
Downtown is about 17 km from the airfield, and the drive is usually 25 to 45 minutes. We do not publish fares on this page; the online booker shows the exact all-in fare for your address and vehicle before you confirm, and it is fixed.
Which FBOs are at Montréal Saint-Hubert?
HUB FBO and Lux FBO both publish sites for the field. Neither page we opened gave a street address or customs arrangements, so confirm those with the operator and tell us which one you are using.
Can I clear customs at Saint-Hubert?
We cannot confirm that from the operators' published pages. The CBSA requires international flights to land at an approved airport of entry, and your flight department should confirm the arrangement before departure. Trudeau's FBOs list customs clearance on their own sites.
Is Saint-Hubert closer than Trudeau for downtown?
Slightly. It is about 17 km from the centre against about 19 km from Trudeau, and the river crossing often decides the time. For Laval and the Laurentians, Trudeau is usually shorter; for Brossard and the Eastern Townships, Saint-Hubert is.
Can you take us from Saint-Hubert to Mont-Tremblant?
Yes. The village is about 160 km away, usually 2 hours 15 minutes to 3 hours. A Luxury SUV carries up to six passengers with five to six large bags, and an Executive Sprinter carries 12 to 14. The booker prices the trip by address and vehicle.
Do you serve the Eastern Townships from Saint-Hubert?
Yes. Bromont is about 82 km away, usually 65 to 90 minutes. We can also arrange an hourly booking for a vineyard or ski day. Alcohol rules follow Québec law and are confirmed at booking.
Can your car take us across the U.S. border?
Yes, for international trips. Passengers need valid travel documents, such as a passport or NEXUS where eligible, and the border wait is part of the trip. We do not offer local point-to-point rides inside the United States.
Do you offer French-language service?
Yes. Service in Québec is available in English and French. Tell us your preference when you book.
What is your cancellation policy?
More than 72 hours' notice: no charge. 72 hours or less: 10%. 48 hours or less: 50%. 24 hours or less or a no-show: 100%, measured from the scheduled pickup time.
