Most people booking a car for a private arrival at Toronto Pearson ask the same first question: where exactly do we meet? This page answers it for a Pearson FBO limo transfer, covering the operators, the customs arrangement, the chauffeur's brief and the drive to Bay Street, Yorkville, the 905 and beyond. It keeps to what the operators publish themselves.
How does a limo pickup at a Pearson FBO work?
At a Pearson FBO the car waits landside at the operator's own building, not at the terminal curb. You clear any required customs inside the FBO, walk out with your crew's help on the bags, and the chauffeur you booked is already there. Flight tracking runs on every airport pickup, so the car follows your actual arrival time.
A commercial terminal pickup is built around public roads, pre-arranged zones and a crowd. An FBO pickup is built around a single private building with a small number of arrivals at any given hour. That makes the handover simpler in some ways and more dependent on advance information in others.
The sequence is short:
- You book with the aircraft registration or flight details, the FBO, the passenger count and the bags.
- The desk tracks the flight on the day.
- Once you are on the ground and cleared, the chauffeur meets you at the FBO. Where the car stands relative to the door is the FBO's call, so the chauffeur confirms the position on the day.
- You are driven to the address you gave, at the fare the booker showed before you confirmed.
Two points matter. We do not assume airside access: whether a vehicle may drive onto a ramp is controlled by the airport authority and the FBO, so the working assumption is a landside meeting at the building. And the FBO is a separate business with its own procedures, so tell us your preferred handler at booking.
Which business-aviation operators serve Toronto Pearson?
Pearson has several business-aviation handlers, and the two we can describe from their own websites both sit on Derry Road East in Mississauga.

- Signature Aviation, Toronto Pearson (YYZ): Its site lists the address as 2450 Derry Road E, Toronto, Ontario L5S 1B2, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The location page lists a dedicated ramp, deicing, ground power and fuel line service, private conference rooms, showers and short- and long-term vehicle parking. Read the full listing on the Signature Aviation Toronto Pearson page.
- Execaire Aviation, Toronto: Its site lists a full-service FBO at Toronto Pearson, 2450 Derry Road East, Hangar #8, Mississauga, Ontario L5S 1B2. The company also lists FBOs in Montréal and Ottawa, which matters if your trip continues down the corridor. See the Execaire Aviation locations page.
Pearson has other business-aviation operators too. We name only these two because their own sites were the ones we could open and read. If you are flying with another handler, give us its name and the address it sent you and we will build the pickup around that.
Both listings carry the same street address, which does not mean the same door. Ask your FBO which building and entrance, and the chauffeur confirms the exact door on the day.
What happens with customs on a private arrival?
If your flight comes from outside Canada, a Canada Border Services Agency clearance sits between the aircraft and the car. The arrangement depends on the FBO and on whether your aircraft and crew are enrolled in a CBSA programme.
Signature's location page states that on-site customs and immigration are available Monday to Friday during limited hours, and it does not publish those hours. Take that literally: a weekend arrival from the United States needs a different plan from a Tuesday-afternoon one, and your flight department or broker will already be working it through with the FBO.
For aircraft in the CANPASS private and corporate aircraft programmes, the CBSA's telephone reporting page says the pilot reports the estimated time of arrival at least two hours, but no more than 48 hours, before flying into Canada. The details reported include everyone aboard, and travellers must declare personal goods and currency or monetary instruments of CDN$10,000 or more. That is the pilot's and operator's job, not the chauffeur's, but it shapes when you walk out of the building.
For the car, a quick clearance means you are out minutes after landing and a longer inspection takes longer. Our waiting terms for airport pickups are 60 minutes free after landing on international arrivals and 30 minutes on domestic ones, and the chauffeur is tracking the flight either way.
What do we need from you when you book a Pearson FBO car?
An FBO pickup works best when the chauffeur's brief reads like a flight department's trip sheet. These are the details that make the difference:

- The aircraft registration or the flight details, so the arrival can be tracked.
- The name of the FBO, and the building or hangar number if you have it.
- Whether the flight is international, because it changes the waiting terms.
- The number of passengers and the number of bags, including golf clubs, garment bags or hard cases.
- The first address, and any intermediate stops if the drive is more than one leg.
- Any request for a child, toddler or booster seat. These are supplied when requested at booking; see our child seat car service page.
- Whether you want a name-board meet-and-greet. It is available as an add-on, and for an FBO it usually means the chauffeur greets you at the building door.
The booker shows the exact fare for your address and vehicle before you pay.
Which vehicle fits a private-aviation party?
Business-aviation parties tend to be small, with heavy luggage and a firm departure time. Headcount decides the vehicle first, bags second.
| Party on the aircraft | Vehicle class | Capacity | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| One to three executives | Executive Sedan | Up to 3 passengers, 2 large + 2 carry-on bags | Bay Street, hotel and meeting runs with light luggage |
| Four to six, or heavy luggage | Luxury SUV | Up to 6 passengers, 5–6 large bags | Families, deal teams, golf and ski equipment |
| A full delegation or crew-plus-guests group | Executive Sprinter | 12–14 passengers, 12+ bags | Roadshows, wedding parties, event delegations |
| Hourly use all day | Stretch Limousine or mini-coach | Stretch 8–10; mini-coach 20–30; hourly | Celebrations and large hourly groups; availability and the exact vehicle are confirmed at booking |
If your party is borderline, book the larger class. A charter that lands with six people and eight bags does not fit in one Luxury SUV with a comfortable rear seat, and two vehicles with two chauffeurs is a cleaner answer than a squeeze. Browse the fleet to see the classes before you decide.
Pearson FBO to Bay Street and the Financial District
Bay Street is the most common destination from a Pearson FBO, and the drive is the same one you would take from the terminal: by Highway 401 or the 427 and the Gardiner, then into the downtown core.

From Pearson, the Fairmont Royal York on Front Street is about 28 km, usually 26 minutes in free-flow traffic and often 40 to 60 minutes in the afternoon peak. The Ritz-Carlton on Wellington Street is about 28 km and the same free-flow time, and Union Station is a few minutes from either. Those figures are measured from the airport in general, and the FBO's position changes them only slightly. Pages for the Fairmont Royal York and The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto set out what the arrival looks like at each door.
A roadshow day rarely stops at one address: FBO, hotel to drop luggage, two or three meetings, lunch, and back to the FBO for a late wheels-up. That is hourly service rather than a point-to-point transfer; the hourly chauffeur page covers how the hours are counted, and the corporate car service page covers invoicing for repeat travellers.
Pearson FBO to Yorkville, Bloor Street and the luxury hotels
Yorkville draws the guests who fly private for a reason: the Four Seasons, the Park Hyatt and the Hazelton all sit within a few blocks of each other, steps from Bloor Street's shops and restaurants.
From Pearson, the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto is about 25 km, about 29 minutes free-flow; the Hazelton Hotel is about 25 km and 29 minutes; the Park Hyatt Toronto is about 24 km and 28 minutes. All three are slower on a Friday afternoon than on a Tuesday morning, so plan 40 to 60 minutes when the peak is on.
See the dedicated pages for the Four Seasons, the Park Hyatt and The Hazelton Hotel, or browse every major Toronto hotel we serve.
Pearson FBO to the 905: Mississauga, Vaughan, Markham and Oakville
Many private arrivals never go downtown; the destination is a 905 head office, a home or a plant visit. Common drives, measured from Pearson:

| From Pearson to | Distance | Typical drive | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale | about 21 km | ~19 min free-flow | Corporate parks and the Meadowvale business area; see Mississauga limo service |
| King City (Kingbridge Centre) | about 35 km | ~28 min free-flow | North of Vaughan; see Vaughan limo service |
| Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites | about 38 km | ~33 min free-flow | Tech and head-office corridor; see Markham limo service |
| Oakville and Burlington | varies by address | quoted by the booker | See Oakville and Burlington |
Mississauga is the nearest of all, since the FBOs themselves are in the city. If you are meeting a client at the International Centre, the International Centre Mississauga events guide explains how the show-day traffic behaves around Airport Road and Derry Road.
Beyond the GTA: Waterloo, Niagara and cottage country
These are the longer drives clients ask about most.
- Kitchener-Waterloo: about 95 km, 1 to 1.25 hours via the 401. This is the tech-visitor run; the Pearson to Kitchener-Waterloo route and the Kitchener-Waterloo limo page cover it.
- Niagara Falls: about 125 km from Pearson, 80 to 100 minutes on the QEW in normal conditions. The Toronto to Niagara Falls route has the detail, and the Niagara Falls limo page covers the destination.
- Muskoka: the 400 northbound on a Friday afternoon is the longest wait on any private-aviation run. The Muskoka limo service page covers the cottage-country timing.
- Hockley Valley Resort: about 53 km from Pearson, about 62 minutes free-flow, often longer on a ski or conference weekend.
If your onward trip is Ottawa or Montréal, the Toronto to Ottawa and Toronto to Montréal route pages set out the corridor drives, though for those distances most private travellers choose to fly the second leg rather than drive it.
Pearson FBO car service versus the other ways to cover the last 28 km
An honest comparison starts with the fact that the best alternative is not always us. These are the realistic options after a private arrival.
| Option | Time to downtown | Cost note | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chauffeured car from the FBO | Matches road time, about 26 minutes free-flow to Front Street | Fixed fare via booker | Time-critical parties, executives, groups with luggage |
| UP Express from Pearson Station | UP Express advertises Pearson to downtown in 28 minutes | Lowest cost | Solo travellers with one bag who are already at the terminal; it does not start at the FBO |
| Taxi or rideshare at the FBO | Road time plus wait | Meter plus surge | Travellers with no booking; the FBO can tell you what is practical at its door |
| FBO or hotel arranged car | Varies | Depends on the arrangement | Crew and guests of an operator that provides one |
| Rental car | Road time plus pick-up | Rental plus parking | Multi-day stays where you need your own car |
The UP Express is the best answer for a lone traveller with a carry-on and nothing to prove. The UP Express site shows the route and current schedule. It does not make sense from an FBO because the train starts at Pearson Station, not at Derry Road East. A chauffeur is the better choice when the party is larger than two, when someone is carrying equipment, or when the next meeting is fixed.
Departing from a Pearson FBO
A private departure has no check-in queue, but the aircraft leaves when the crew and the slot agree, so the car works backwards from wheels-up. Tell the desk the planned departure time and the building you are leaving from. A 4 pm departure from the Financial District should leave the tower by about 2:45 pm, because the 401 westbound and the 427 northbound both slow in late afternoon. The chauffeur confirms the pickup time the day before.
Other airfields to consider when your aircraft cannot use Pearson
Not every aircraft is a good fit for Pearson. A busy commercial airport asks a lot of smaller or slower traffic, and some operators choose another field and use a car for the last leg.
- Hamilton (YHM): about 80 km from Pearson, about 70 to 75 minutes free-flow between the two airports. See Hamilton business aviation and Hamilton Airport limo.
- Billy Bishop (YTZ): about 25 km from Pearson, but the airport site says all jet aircraft are prohibited except MEDEVAC flights. See Billy Bishop business aviation.
- Oshawa (YOO): the eastern option for Durham and Markham. See Oshawa business aviation.
- Waterloo (YKF): for clients in Kitchener-Waterloo. See Waterloo business aviation.
The private aviation overview compares them side by side.
Crossing into the United States or continuing from Pearson
Some Pearson FBO trips continue south. Buffalo is about 160 km from Toronto by the QEW, 1.75 to 2.5 hours plus the border; passengers need valid travel documents, and border wait time is part of the trip. The cross-border limo page explains documents and crossings, and the USA hub lists the routes.
Pearson's commercial terminals are covered separately on the Pearson Airport limo page, and the airport limo comparison shows how Pearson sits next to Billy Bishop, Hamilton and Buffalo.
Booking, waiting and cancellation
You book on our own booker, with the exact fare shown for your address before you confirm. Vehicles and chauffeurs are licensed and commercially insured, and dispatch runs 24 hours a day from Toronto.
If your plans change, cancellation is measured from the scheduled pickup time. More than 72 hours' notice carries no charge; 72 hours or less is 10%; 48 hours or less is 50%; 24 hours or less, or a no-show, is 100%.
Frequently asked questions
Can a limo meet me at a Pearson FBO instead of the terminal?
Yes. Give the desk the FBO name, the aircraft registration or flight details and the passenger count. The chauffeur meets you landside at the operator's building, tracking the flight in the meantime.
Can the car drive onto the ramp to meet my aircraft?
Do not assume it. Airside vehicle access is controlled by the airport authority and the FBO, so the default plan is a landside meeting. If your FBO confirms ramp access for your party, tell us and we will plan around it.
Which FBOs are at Toronto Pearson?
Signature Aviation lists 2450 Derry Road E, open 24/7, and Execaire Aviation lists 2450 Derry Road East, Hangar #8. There are other operators on the field. If yours is not one of these two, give us the name and address and we will plan from there.
Is customs available at the FBO?
Signature's page says on-site customs and immigration is available Monday to Friday during limited hours. Other operators arrange it differently. Your flight department or broker confirms the arrangement with the FBO and the CBSA, not the chauffeur.
How long is the drive from a Pearson FBO to Bay Street?
About 28 km to the Fairmont Royal York, usually 26 minutes in free-flow traffic and 40 to 60 minutes in the afternoon peak. The booker shows the exact fare for your address and vehicle before you confirm.
How long will the chauffeur wait after I land?
Our terms for airport pickups are 60 minutes free after landing on international arrivals and 30 minutes on domestic ones. Flight tracking runs on every pickup, so the car follows the actual arrival.
What vehicle should I book for a private-jet party?
An Executive Sedan takes up to three passengers; a Luxury SUV takes up to six with five or six large bags; an Executive Sprinter takes 12 to 14. For borderline groups, book the larger class.
Can I book the car for the whole day?
Yes. An hourly day from the FBO covers multiple stops in Toronto or the 905. Give the desk the stops in order and the time you need to be back at the FBO.
How much is a limo from a Pearson FBO?
The fare depends on the address, vehicle and time. The booker shows the exact all-in fare for your trip before you confirm, so there is nothing to estimate.
