How does a Hamilton YHM FBO car service pickup work?
You book a vehicle on TorontoBlackLimousine.net with your aircraft registration, estimated arrival time and the FBO you are using at Hamilton International in Mount Hope. We track the arrival, the chauffeur meets you at the FBO once you are cleared, and the fare is fixed before you pay.
A private-aircraft pickup is a different job from a terminal pickup: no arrivals hall, no carousel, but a handler, a ramp, a customs step on international arrivals, and a car that must be in the right place. This page explains how we handle that at Hamilton, which sits about 84 km from Union Station and about 77 km from Pearson, and which is a practical business-aviation field for clients headed to Burlington, Oakville, Hamilton itself, the Niagara Peninsula and the Waterloo corridor.
It is a Hamilton airport FBO car service in the plainest sense: a licensed, commercially insured chauffeur and vehicle, dispatched from Toronto and tracking your aircraft. When you are ready to price a trip, get an instant fare and the booker shows the exact all-in fare for your pickup address and vehicle before you confirm.
The two business-aviation FBOs at Hamilton International
The airport's own address is 9300 Airport Road, Mount Hope, Ontario, in the south of the City of Hamilton. Business aircraft are handled by independent fixed-base operators on the same airfield, and as of 2026 the two operators you will encounter are Hamilton Jetport and Onward Aviation. Always confirm with your flight department or charter broker which of them is handling your aircraft, because that decides where the car goes.

Hamilton Jetport lists itself at 520-9300 Airport Road. Its own website describes a full-service FBO with international access, private and secure arrivals and departures, direct access to the runway, and operation 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. For lounges, catering and crew services, ask Jetport directly; we treat the operator's own site as the authority.
Onward Aviation is at Hangar 4 (Unit 200), 9300 Airport Road. Its site describes a full-service FBO with a fully reimagined facility, availability around the clock for refuelling, heated hangarage, de-icing, premium catering, a boardroom, valet service, executive vehicle rentals, crew transport and direct passenger transitions at the aircraft. Its services page lists on-site CBSA, and it also offers crew tours of the neighbouring Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, which is a short hop away at 9280 Airport Road.
Both operators publish their own details: see Hamilton Jetport and Onward Aviation. The commercial passenger terminal is a separate operation run by the airport itself, and its public information lives at flyhamilton.ca. If your party is travelling on a scheduled airline instead, our regular Hamilton airport limo page is the one to use.
Customs for private arrivals at Hamilton
If you are arriving from outside Canada, the sequence matters because your chauffeur cannot meet you until the border step is finished.
The Canada Border Services Agency runs a telephone reporting arrangement for general aviation. In the CBSA's own memorandum, private or corporate aircraft carrying 15 people or fewer including the crew report by phone at least 2 hours and no more than 48 hours before arriving in Canada, then call again on landing and wait for instructions before anyone leaves the aircraft. Charters and aircraft that carry paying passengers are not eligible for that method. The details are in CBSA Memorandum D2-5-12 and the CANPASS private and corporate aircraft page.
What we can say about Hamilton specifically is limited to what the operators publish. Onward Aviation lists on-site CBSA among its services; Jetport describes international access. Neither page we reviewed gives clearance hours, and we have not found an official CBSA schedule for the field, so we do not quote one. Your handler or your charter operator arranges clearance and tells you the hours that apply to your arrival. We follow the aircraft, and we wait for you once you are released.
On international arrivals we include 60 minutes of free waiting after landing, which gives a customs clearance room to run. Domestic arrivals carry 30 minutes. If clearance runs longer, tell dispatch and the chauffeur stays.
What we need from you at booking
A private-aircraft pickup needs more detail than a commercial one. Give us the following in the booking notes and the pickup is straightforward:

- The aircraft registration (tail number) and expected arrival time, so we can follow the flight.
- The name of the FBO handling you: Jetport or Onward.
- Whether you are arriving from a Canadian airport or from abroad, so we know whether a customs step stands between you and the car.
- The number of passengers and the number and size of bags, including golf clubs, boxes and any display cases.
- Your onward destination: a street address, a hotel, or the first stop of a multi-stop day.
- Any crew car or rental the flight department has already arranged.
Passengers need valid travel documents for any international arrival; the CBSA rules above govern what the aircraft's crew reports, and your charter operator will tell you what each traveller needs. For a departure to the United States, check the destination country's entry rules before you go.
Where the car waits, and who decides
Access to the apron is controlled by the airport and by the FBO. A security-conscious operator may allow a pre-cleared car to wait at the aircraft; another will ask the car to wait at its front door and the crew to escort passengers to the building. Neither is wrong. Because we cannot speak for how either operator will run your particular arrival, the working rule is simple: the chauffeur confirms the exact door and the exact waiting spot with the FBO on the day, and the confirmation is sent to you before you land.
Name-board meet-and-greet inside arrivals is available as an add-on for scheduled flights through the terminal, but an FBO arrival does not use it; the chauffeur introduces themselves in the FBO lounge instead.
Drive times from the Hamilton FBOs
All figures below are road distance and free-flow driving time from the airport in Mount Hope, measured with a routing engine. Add time for the QEW, the Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway or the 401 in the afternoon peak, and for winter weather.

| Destination | Distance (about) | Free-flow time (about) | Heavy-traffic allowance |
|---|---|---|---|
| McMaster University, Hamilton | 21 km | 31 min | 40–50 min |
| Burlington (Spencer Smith Park) | 33 km | 39 min | 50–70 min |
| Oakville (downtown) | 50 km | 50 min | 70–95 min |
| Pearson Airport (YYZ) | 77 km | 75 min | 100–140 min |
| Union Station, downtown Toronto | 84 km | 75 min | 105–150 min |
| St. Catharines | 72 km | 70 min | 85–110 min |
| Niagara-on-the-Lake | 89 km | 90 min | 105–130 min |
| Niagara Falls (Table Rock) | 92 km | 89 min | 105–135 min |
The booker shows the exact fare for your address and vehicle before you confirm. We do not publish fares on this site.
Hamilton FBO to Burlington, Oakville and the QEW corridor
For clients with offices or meetings in Halton, Hamilton is a sensible alternative to Pearson. A flight into Mount Hope puts you about 33 km from Spencer Smith Park in Burlington and about 50 km from downtown Oakville, with no 401 crossing the city to reach them. The route heads up through Hamilton's escarpment arterials and onto the highways toward the QEW, and the chauffeur picks the corridor that is moving best on the day.
Typical Halton assignments are client visits, site meetings, golf days and weddings. Our Burlington limo and Oakville limo pages cover those cities in detail, and a golf day with a driver is described in our Oakville golf-day guide.
Niagara from Hamilton: Falls, wine country and Niagara-on-the-Lake
The same airfield is often the better choice for Niagara. The Peninsula is about 72 km to St. Catharines, about 89 km to Niagara-on-the-Lake and about 92 km to the Falls, by road, from the FBO.

Typical private-aviation itineraries here include:
- A winery day on the Beamsville Bench or in the Twenty Valley, where your party tastes and the chauffeur drives. Our wine tour limo page covers etiquette and group sizes, and the Twenty Valley and Bench winery guide lists what to expect.
- Theatre in Niagara-on-the-Lake, with a pickup after the matinee. See Niagara-on-the-Lake limo.
- A Falls day for a family or a delegation: Niagara Parks publishes the attraction list, including Journey Behind the Falls and the Niagara Parkway, on niagaraparks.com. Our Niagara Falls limo page covers the city and the border crossings, and Toronto to Niagara Falls explains the direction from the other side of the lake.
- An onward hop to St. Catharines.
Alcohol rules follow Ontario law and are confirmed at booking. We do not promise drinks on board.
Hamilton itself: McMaster, TD Coliseum and the waterfalls
Hamilton is the destination as often as the gateway. McMaster University is about 21 km from the airport and about 31 minutes in free flow, which makes Hamilton useful for visiting faculty, speakers and research partners. The city's arena, TD Coliseum, is at 101 York Boulevard and lists the Hamilton Hammers among its tenants. The tourism board, Tourism Hamilton, is the place to check events, the Royal Botanical Gardens and Dundurn National Historic Site, and it notes that fall visits to the Spencer Gorge conservation area, including Dundas Peak, require reservations as of 2026. If you are planning a falls and gardens day, our guides to Hamilton's waterfalls and the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington set out the order of stops. The broader city page is Hamilton limo.
Hamilton FBO to Toronto: Bay Street, Pearson and Union Station
Some clients land at Hamilton to avoid the airspace and ramp congestion of a larger airport and still need to be on Bay Street. The run to Union Station is about 84 km and about 75 minutes in free flow, and we plan 105 to 150 minutes if the 403, the QEW and the Gardiner are heavy. For Pearson the figure is about 77 km and about 75 minutes. Our Pearson airport limo and Toronto airport limo pages cover the other airports, and if the downtown arrival is the point of the trip, the hotel pages for Fairmont Royal York and The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto show the numbers from Hamilton to each address.

Choosing the vehicle for your aircraft party
Business-aircraft parties are smaller than airline loads but carry more variable luggage. As a guide:
- Executive Sedan: up to 3 passengers with 2 large and 2 carry-on bags. Right for one or two principals and an assistant.
- Luxury SUV: six seats and space for five or six full-size cases. The usual choice for a family or a small delegation with hard cases.
- Executive Sprinter: 12 to 14 seats and a dozen or more cases. Suits a crew-and-guest group, or a team arriving for a plant visit.
- Stretch limousine and mini-coach or party bus: for events after landing, booked by the hour. Availability and the exact vehicle are confirmed at booking.
See the fleet for the full list. Child, toddler and booster seats are provided when you ask for them at booking; our car seat service page explains the Ontario rules.
Ground transport at Hamilton compared
Honest advice first: if the aircraft operator has laid on a crew car or a rental, and you are going a short distance with one or two people, that may be the simplest answer. The table sets out where each option fits.
| Option | Typical time | Cost note | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| FBO crew transport or rental car (Onward lists crew transport and executive vehicle rentals) | Depends on destination | Arranged with the FBO | Crew, or a self-driven trip with a rental |
| Taxi from the terminal curb (the airport lists Blue Line Transportation and Hamilton Cab) | 28 min to downtown in free flow | Meter plus extras | Solo travellers coming through the passenger terminal, not the FBO |
| Rideshare (Uber and Lyft pickup is at the terminal sidewalk) | Variable | Metered with surge | Light luggage, flexible timing |
| HSR A-Line Express (Route 20), which serves downtown Hamilton and the Hamilton GO Transit Centre | Longer than driving | Transit fare, lowest | Budget trips on the passenger-terminal side if you have time and light bags |
| Private chauffeur from TorontoBlackLimousine.net | 75 min to Union Station in free flow | Fixed fare via booker | Principals, hard-sided luggage, tight schedules, multi-stop days |
The terminal-side options come from the airport's own ground transportation page. Taxis and rideshare are built around the passenger terminal curb; they are rarely the right fit for an FBO pickup, where the driver must find the right building and wait for a cleared passenger. Public transit is the lowest-cost route and is a fair choice for a lone traveller with a laptop bag; for an executive with a deadline, a fixed-fare car already at the FBO is easier to plan around.
Winter operations, de-icing days and late arrivals
Onward Aviation lists de-icing among its services, so an aircraft may be delayed on a freezing morning and may leave in a wave with others. We track the arrival and move the chauffeur to match. For departures, allow time for de-icing.
For late arrivals, Jetport states 24-hour operation and Onward describes round-the-clock availability. The catch is that customs clearance hours may be narrower than the FBO's, so ask your handler. Plan clearance first, ground transport second, and tell us when the schedule moves.
Our chauffeurs drive to the road conditions, not to a schedule that no longer fits them.
Hourly use after you land
Not every private-aircraft arrival is a point-to-point transfer. A common pattern is landing at Hamilton at 8 am, driving to a Burlington meeting, a lunch in Oakville and an afternoon site visit, and departing again at 6 pm. That is an hourly assignment with a chauffeur who knows the QEW and the escarpment crossings. Our hourly chauffeur and corporate car service pages explain how multi-stop days are planned, and the Toronto chauffeur service page explains the same service in the city. Stretch limousines and party buses are hourly as well, with availability confirmed at booking.
Booking and cancellation
Book on the site, add the aircraft and FBO details in the notes, and the chauffeur is assigned. Our cancellation terms, measured from the scheduled pickup time, are: more than 72 hours' notice, no charge; 72 hours or less, 10%; 48 hours or less, 50%; 24 hours or less or a no-show, 100%. Aircraft schedules change, so if your arrival time moves, tell dispatch rather than cancelling.
For a large delegation or a long onward run, the travel desk can plan the details. Everything here applies equally to departures: the chauffeur collects you at your hotel or office and delivers you to the FBO door. Cross-border onward legs are on cross-border limo.
Frequently asked questions
Does TorontoBlackLimousine.net pick up at Hamilton Jetport and Onward Aviation?
Yes. Give the FBO name and the aircraft registration at booking. The chauffeur confirms the door and waiting spot with the FBO on the day, and sends you the confirmation before you land.
How far is the Hamilton airport from downtown Toronto by car?
About 84 km to Union Station, roughly 75 minutes in free flow and 105 to 150 minutes in heavy traffic. The booker shows the exact fare before you confirm.
Can the chauffeur meet me at the aircraft on the ramp?
That is for the FBO and the airport to decide. Some pre-cleared cars wait at the aircraft; others wait at the front door. The chauffeur asks the FBO and tells you what to expect before you land.
What happens if I arrive from the United States?
Your pilot or operator handles the CBSA report. Passengers need valid travel documents. The chauffeur waits after clearance, with 60 minutes of free waiting after landing on international arrivals.
Is Hamilton a good alternative to Pearson for Burlington and Niagara?
Often, yes: about 33 km to Burlington's waterfront and about 72 km to St. Catharines, with no trip across Toronto. For Bay Street, Billy Bishop or Pearson is closer.
How much is a limo from the Hamilton FBO to Burlington or Oakville?
The distance to Burlington is about 33 km and about 39 minutes in free flow; Oakville is about 50 km. We show distance and time only; the booker gives the exact fare for your address and vehicle before payment.
Can you carry golf bags, display cases or hard-sided luggage?
Yes, with the right vehicle. A Luxury SUV takes 5 to 6 large bags, and an Executive Sprinter takes 12 or more. Tell us what you are carrying at booking so we assign a vehicle that fits.
What is the cancellation policy for private-aircraft pickups?
More than 72 hours' notice, no charge; 72 hours or less, 10%; 48 hours or less, 50%; 24 hours or less or a no-show, 100%, measured from the scheduled pickup time. If the aircraft is delayed, tell dispatch.
