Windsor sits directly across the Detroit River from Detroit, and a Windsor limo is a different job from a limo anywhere else in Ontario. The airport most travellers want, the arenas and a good share of the evening plans are on the other side of a border. The chauffeur is not just driving; the chauffeur is managing a border. TorontoBlackLimousine.net books Windsor trips through its Toronto dispatch, with licensed, commercially insured chauffeurs, flight tracking and a fixed fare quoted before you pay.
Who provides a limo service in Windsor, Ontario?
We provide chauffeured black-car, SUV, Sprinter, stretch limousine and party bus service in Windsor, including cross-border runs to Detroit Metropolitan Airport. Every booking has flight tracking on airport pickups, 24/7 dispatch and a fixed fare shown in the online booker before you confirm.
Three kinds of customers use this service most. Travellers connecting through Detroit because the flight options are wider than those at Windsor's own airport. Casino and event guests who want to arrive without worrying about parking or the drive home. And business travellers moving between Windsor, London and Toronto along Highway 401.
A word on how we handle prices: we do not print them. The booker returns one all-in fare for your exact pickup, drop-off, date and vehicle before payment, and the fare does not change after you confirm.
Limo Windsor Ontario by the numbers
These are rounded distances and typical drive times. Border queues are extra, and the booker calculates the real figure for your address.

| Run | Distance | Typical time | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Windsor to Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) | about 35 to 45 km | about 35 to 50 min including normal border time | Documents required |
| Windsor to London, Ontario | about 190 km | about 2 h | Highway 401 east |
| Windsor to Toronto | about 370 km | about 4 h | Highway 401 east |
Travel-routing sources put the Detroit Metro run between roughly 34 and 45 km and 25 to 50 minutes, depending on the crossing, the time of day and the queue. Treat it as a planning range, not a promise.
Three crossings, one riverfront
Windsor has three vehicle crossings to Detroit, and they behave differently. The notes below come from each operator's own site.
- Detroit-Windsor Tunnel. Open 24 hours a day, every day of the year. The tunnel's live data lists lanes for cars, trucks and NEXUS. The Detroit end is at 100 East Jefferson Avenue. Travel directions place its Canadian end by Caesars Windsor.
- Ambassador Bridge. Open 24 hours, seven days a week. It is a tolled suspension bridge across the Detroit River, opened on November 15, 1929, and the operator describes it as the largest international suspension bridge in the world, at 7,500 feet in total length. It handles both cars and trucks.
- Gordie Howe International Bridge. The newest crossing, opened to vehicle traffic on Monday, July 27, 2026.
The Canada Border Services Agency publishes wait estimates for all three. On the day we checked, October 8, 2026, the CBSA page showed no delay at the tunnel or the Ambassador Bridge and about five minutes for travellers at the Gordie Howe bridge. Those figures change hourly, and the CBSA notes that its estimates do not include delays on roads leading to the border.

The Gordie Howe International Bridge opened on July 27, 2026
The bridge's own site states that it officially opened to traffic on Monday, July 27, 2026, with travellers welcomed from about noon. News coverage of the period reported that the date moved several times before the final announcement. A separate walking and cycling path was on a different schedule, so do not assume it is open when planning a pedestrian crossing.
What it changes for a chauffeured trip is choice. Three crossings means a dispatcher can compare real-time waits and pick the one that suits your pickup and drop-off. We recommend you leave that to us rather than naming a bridge in advance, unless there is a reason, such as a NEXUS lane at the tunnel, that you want us to plan around. The bridge's site links to a toll estimator and to information on the Michigan interchange; we do not quote toll amounts here.

Documents for the crossing
Everyone in the car needs valid travel documents. U.S. Customs and Border Protection states that Canadian citizens entering by land may present a valid passport, an Enhanced Driver's Licence, or a NEXUS, SENTRI or FAST card. Canadian children under 16, or under 19 when travelling with a school or youth group, need only proof of citizenship such as a birth certificate. CBP also lists separate documents for Mexican citizens, Bermudian citizens and lawful permanent residents.
If you hold another nationality, check the current requirements before you travel; visa rules are set by the destination country and we cannot adjust them. Our cross-border limo page sets out the general approach, and the Windsor to Detroit cross-border route page covers the crossing itself.
Border wait time is part of the trip. A chauffeur cannot make a queue disappear, but a chauffeur can choose the crossing, watch the estimates and keep you informed.

Windsor to Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW)
For many travellers the Detroit airport is the real Windsor airport. Routing sources put the drive at roughly 34 to 45 km, with about 25 to 50 minutes of driving depending on the crossing and traffic, plus border processing. Plan from the time your flight requires you at the airport and work backwards, with margin for the border.

DTW has two terminals, the McNamara Terminal and the Evans Terminal. Delta and its SkyTeam partners use McNamara, and other carriers use Evans, but airlines move terminals, so confirm with your airline before the day. Tell us the airline when you book and we set the drop-off accordingly.
On return, think about Canadian arrival. Your chauffeur tracks your flight, and international arrivals include 60 minutes of free waiting after landing. A name-board meet-and-greet in arrivals can be added to the booking.
See our Detroit airport limo page for terminal details and our Toronto to Detroit route page for the long haul.
Windsor International Airport (YQG)
Windsor International Airport is at 3200 Cabana Road East. Its website lists Air Canada to Toronto Pearson, Porter to Ottawa, WestJet to Calgary (seasonal), Sunwing and Air Transat to Cancún (seasonal) and Air Transat to Punta Cana (seasonal). On the day we checked, the site listed Air Canada flights arriving from Toronto and departing to Toronto, and one Porter flight each way to Ottawa.
For small airports, the schedule is the whole story, and the airport warns that conditions can change, so confirm flight status with your airline. A chauffeur's job here is to track the aircraft and be at the door, not at the car park.
Our Windsor airport limo page covers the pickup in more detail, and our airport limo Toronto page compares Pearson and the other airports for travellers who prefer a connecting itinerary.

VIA Rail Windsor station
The Windsor VIA Rail station is at 298 Walker Road, between Riverside Drive and Wyandotte Street, next to Hiram Walker's Distillery. VIA lists the station as open daily from 4:45 am to midnight, with the ticket counter open until 9:30 pm. Taxis serve the station, and Transit Windsor runs a tunnel bus to Detroit: every 20 minutes until 18:00, then every 40 minutes until 01:20.

That bus is a real alternative for a solo traveller with light luggage and a valid travel document; we say so plainly. A booked car is better for groups, heavy bags, early flights and anyone who does not want to depend on a published bus interval.

Caesars Windsor and Detroit nights out
Caesars Windsor describes its riverside location with views of Detroit and lists the Colosseum entertainment venue among its attractions. Our casino limo page covers the practicalities of casino evenings, from arrival to the drive home. The point of a booked car is simple: you do not drive after an evening out, and you do not wait for a ride at closing time.
Alcohol follows Ontario law (and the law of any other jurisdiction you enter) and is confirmed at booking. We never promise drinks on board. Prom and graduation runs are always alcohol-free.
For an evening on the Detroit side, tell us the venue and the finish time. We plan the crossing back, including waits, so that the return does not catch you out. Our night out limo page describes hourly bookings that include multiple stops.
WFCU Centre and Windsor events
The Windsor Spitfires of the OHL play at the WFCU Centre, and the league's schedule lists their home games there. For hockey nights, concerts and conferences, the useful questions are the same: when do you need to be inside, and when does the event end? Give us both, plus a meeting point away from the main exits.

Our concert and sports limo page explains how arena pickups are staged, and our corporate car service page describes accounts for business travel that includes the border.

Toronto, London and the Highway 401 corridor
Windsor is the western end of Highway 401, which runs about 828 km to the Ontario-Québec border. London is about 190 km east, roughly two hours, and Toronto is about 370 km east, roughly four hours in normal traffic. For longer days and a return trip, hourly booking is an option; our hourly chauffeur page explains the format.
If you start in London, our limo London Ontario page describes that end of the corridor, and the Toronto to Detroit route covers the whole run.
Essex County wine country and Pelee Island
Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island promotes the region's wineries and craft producers, including a tasting pass for local wineries. Ontario's ferry page says the Pelee Island service runs from Leamington or Kingsville on the mainland, with winter air service from Windsor's airport. We can drive you to a ferry terminal or a winery; the booker gives the exact distance and time for your pickup address.
Winery days are best done with a driver. Our wine tour limo page describes etiquette and tasting-day planning, and no one in the car drives.

Booking, vehicles, waiting time and cancellation
Match the vehicle to passengers and bags. The Executive Sedan seats three with two large and two carry-on bags, the Luxury SUV seats six with five or six large bags, and the Executive Sprinter seats twelve to fourteen with twelve or more bags. Stretch limousines (8 to 10 passengers) and mini-coaches or party buses (20 to 30) are charged hourly, with availability and the exact vehicle confirmed when you book. Photographs are on the fleet page.
- Go to the online booker and key in the pickup, the destination and the day.
- Select a vehicle and any extras, such as a name-board greeting or a child seat.
- Confirm once the exact fare for your address appears.
Flight tracking comes with every airport pickup, alongside 60 minutes of free waiting for international arrivals and 30 for domestic. Child, toddler and booster seats are supplied if you ask when booking.
If plans change, the scale is counted from the scheduled pickup time. With more than 72 hours' notice there is no charge; at 72 hours or less it is 10%; at 48 hours or less, 50%; and at 24 hours or less, or on a no-show, 100%.
