How do I book a limo service to or from 1 Hotel Toronto?
Open the booker, enter 550 Wellington Street West as your pickup or drop-off, choose Billy Bishop, Pearson, Union Station or an hourly block, and select a vehicle. You see the exact fare before you confirm, and the chauffeur sets the door with you on the day.
Of the downtown luxury hotels, 1 Hotel Toronto is among the closest to Billy Bishop, which is why it makes a different kind of booking from a Bay Street tower. The airport is about 1 km away, King West's restaurants and clubs begin at the door, and the hotel's own rooftop and event spaces draw people from outside the building. TorontoBlackLimousine.net is an independent Toronto chauffeur service. We have no arrangement with the hotel, and the hotel has not recommended us. You book direct, see the fare first, and our dispatch team runs the car around the clock.
A note on the name: from Thompson Toronto to 1 Hotel Toronto
If you are searching for the old name, you have the right building. The property on Wellington Street West was the Thompson Toronto until Starwood Capital Group announced plans in 2019 to renovate it and rebrand it as 1 Hotel Toronto, reusing local materials such as timber and limestone. Some listing sites and older GPS entries still say "Thompson", so we put the current address in every booking: 550 Wellington Street West, Toronto, in King West Village.

The hotel's own site lists four places to eat and drink: 1 Kitchen, Flora Lounge, Casa Madera and Harriet's Rooftop, along with a rooftop pool, a wellness space called The Field House and a complimentary bike rental. It also lists event spaces for weddings, private dining, meetings and film and photo shoots. The site does not publish capacities, and third-party directories disagree on them, so we do not repeat any room count here. Ask the hotel.
What makes this address different for a car
King West is a district of restaurants, patios and valet stands, and its blocks are busiest on Thursday to Saturday evenings. A car that arrives at the wrong moment in front of 550 Wellington is one more vehicle in a short block. That is the reason we stage nearby: the driver watches your ready time and pulls up as you step out.
Three things set this address apart from the financial district:
- The airport is on the doorstep. Billy Bishop is about 1 km away, roughly 3 minutes in free flow.
- Evenings are the busy period. The financial district empties after six; King West fills.
- Film and photo work happens here. The hotel lists film and photo shoots among its event uses, so crew vehicles and equipment sometimes share the block.
Our rule is the same as everywhere: the chauffeur confirms the exact door on the day, based on what the hotel and the street are doing, not on a fixed spot we cannot verify.
Airport transfers from 1 Hotel Toronto
These are road distances and free-flow drive times from the hotel, with a weekday rush-hour range.

| Airport | Distance | Free-flow time | Typical rush hour | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Billy Bishop (YTZ), Eireann Quay | about 1 km | ~3 min | roughly 5–15 min | Mainland pickup; tunnel to the terminal |
| Toronto Pearson (YYZ) | about 27 km | ~27 min | roughly 40–70 min | Flight tracking; meet-and-greet as an add-on |
| Hamilton (YHM) | about 83 km | ~76 min | roughly 95–130 min | Longer trip; leave margin |
Flight tracking runs on every airport pickup, which means a delay just moves the car. The first 60 minutes after an international landing, or 30 after a domestic one, carry no waiting charge. A name-board greeter can meet you inside arrivals if you add it. The booker prices your exact address and vehicle up front. Billy Bishop: a one-kilometre run with a fiddly end
For most hotels a car to the airport is a long drive. Here it is a few minutes, and so the honest advice is to think about the walk, not the ride. Billy Bishop is on an island and passengers reach the terminal through a pedestrian tunnel 853 feet long with four moving walkways; the airport says it takes under six minutes from curb to check-in.
The airport's curb rules matter for pickups: the curb outside the mainland pavilion is for active loading and unloading only, taxis queue at a corral to the right of the pavilion, and rideshare uses the curb beside Little Norway Park. Because the page does not cover limousines or chauffeurs, we settle the exact pickup point with you when you book. For arrivals, expect to walk the tunnel back to the mainland before meeting the driver.
With a carry-on and no time pressure, the airport's free shuttle to Union Station runs about every 15 minutes and takes about 15 minutes. From this hotel, though, the drive is so short that a car is often simpler once you add luggage. Our Billy Bishop guide compares them.
Pearson to King West
Pearson to 550 Wellington Street West is about 27 km, roughly 27 minutes when the roads are clear. The usual approach is the 427 and the Gardiner Expressway eastbound, then off at a downtown ramp; at some hours the 401 and a city street route is faster. The dispatcher chooses by live traffic.

At weekday rush hour the same trip can run 40 to 70 minutes. If you land at 6:30 pm on a Friday, expect the upper end. If you land at 11:00 pm, the trip is closer to half an hour. The meet-and-greet is helpful for international arrivals with a lot of luggage. Without it, you receive the vehicle details by text and meet the driver at the agreed point.
Children and infants are catered for: child, toddler and booster seats are available on request. See car seat service.
Hourly corporate use from King West
For work trips, the hotel is within reach of both the financial district and the media and tech offices around King and Spadina. A chauffeur by the hour keeps you moving across them without parking. Approximate drive times from the hotel in daytime traffic:
- Bay Street and the financial district. About 2.5 km, 10 to 18 minutes.
- Metro Toronto Convention Centre. About 2.5 km, 8 to 15 minutes.
- Union Station. About 3 km, 10 to 18 minutes.
- Exhibition Place. About 3 km, 8 to 15 minutes.
A typical day: an 8:30 breakfast meeting in the financial district, an 11:00 site visit in the 905, lunch back downtown, a 3:00 client call from the car, then an evening dinner on King West with a pickup booked at the same time. The hourly chauffeur service and corporate car service pages explain accounts and invoicing. Choose the hours and the vehicle, and the booker shows the fare first.
Conventions, trade shows and game nights
Three large venues are within a short drive. The Metro Toronto Convention Centre lists events across its North and South Buildings and advertises indoor access to public transit. Exhibition Place, at 100 Princes' Boulevard, houses the Enercare Centre and several other halls; when we checked in October 2026 it listed shows including the Toronto Ski & Snowboard Show (23 to 25 October) and the Navrang Navratri Festival Canada (24 to 25 October). Rogers Centre, which the hotel names among its neighbours, is about 2.5 km away, 8 to 15 minutes by car, for baseball and concerts.

On event days, drop-off is easiest a block or two from the entrance. See our guides to Exhibition Place shows, Rogers Centre game days and MTCC arrivals, and the event transportation and concert and sports limo pages.
Weddings, parties and nights out on King West
The hotel markets itself for weddings and private events, and King West is the city's most obvious nightlife area. For a bridal party the usual pattern is a Luxury SUV or an Executive Sprinter from the hotel to the ceremony, a return for photos, and a final transfer to the reception. See wedding limo.
For a birthday or bachelorette on King West, the Stretch Limousine seats 8 to 10 and is booked by the hour; a mini-coach or party bus holds 20 to 30. Vehicle and availability are settled when you book. Alcohol rules follow Ontario law and are confirmed with the booking; prom and graduation trips are strictly alcohol-free. See night out limo, stretch limo service and party bus Toronto.
Film and photo shoots
The hotel lists film and photo shoots among the events it hosts. Behind a shoot there is a logistics chain: talent to set, equipment to location, crew to the airport. A chauffeur by the hour handles talent moves, and the Executive Sprinter (12 to 14 passengers, 12 or more bags) carries crew and cases. Plan call times early; the dispatcher can pre-position cars for a 5:00 am start. See Sprinter van service.
