A Pearson airport limo takes the uncertainty out of the least predictable part of a trip: the hour after you land. You walk out of customs with a booked chauffeur, a tracked flight and a fare that was fixed before you left home. TorontoBlackLimousine.net dispatches from Toronto and covers Pearson (YYZ), Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, arrivals and departures, around the clock. This page explains how a pickup works, how long the roads take from YYZ to the places people actually go, and when the train or a taxi is a smarter choice than a limousine.
How do I book a Pearson airport limo?
Open the online booker, enter your pickup or drop-off address, add your flight number and terminal if you know it, choose a vehicle class and review the fixed fare. Your chauffeur tracks the flight and your confirmation message names the exact meeting point at Pearson.
That is the whole booking. The flight number matters most, because it lets dispatch watch the aircraft instead of the clock. If you do not yet know the terminal, enter the flight anyway; the terminal is confirmed in the message you receive before landing.
Terminal 1 and Terminal 3: which one will I use?
Pearson has two passenger terminals today, Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, and your airline decides which. The ticket or boarding pass usually states it. Because airlines occasionally move between terminals, we match the pickup to the live flight record rather than to an old habit. That is also why this page does not print a door letter: Pearson's door labels for pre-arranged pickups have been described differently over time, so we confirm the meeting point in your booking message instead.

Pearson's own ground transportation pages separate taxis, rideshare and pre-arranged services into different pickup points. For a pre-arranged chauffeur that means no taxi line, no rideshare app and no shouting across the kerb. If you booked an add-on name-board meet-and-greet, the chauffeur waits inside arrivals with a sign carrying your name and walks you and your bags to the car.
Pre-arranged pickup: the sequence on arrival
- Dispatch tracks your flight from departure and positions the chauffeur for the real landing time.
- You land, clear immigration and customs if the flight is international, and collect your bags.
- Check the confirmation message for the meeting point at your terminal's arrivals level.
- The chauffeur loads luggage, confirms the destination and sets off. The fare was settled in the booker, so there is nothing to negotiate.
On international arrivals we include 60 minutes of free waiting after landing; domestic arrivals include 30. Those windows are generous on purpose, because a full arrivals hall and a slow baggage belt can add a surprising amount to a transborder or overseas flight.
Pearson to downtown Toronto and Union Station
Union Station lies roughly 27 km southeast of the airport by road, and the normal drive is 30 to 50 minutes. Which end of that range you get depends on the hour. At mid-morning the 427 and the Gardiner Expressway flow; at 4:30 pm on a weekday, the same trip can take almost twice as long as it did at noon. A Friday before a long weekend is slower again.

The UP Express is the honest alternative. The operator's website says Pearson Airport to downtown Toronto takes 28 minutes and lists the stops as Union, Bloor, Mount Dennis, Weston and Pearson. If you are travelling light to a hotel near Union Station, the train will beat any car at rush hour and costs far less. The car wins when you carry several bags, travel with children, arrive late at night or are heading anywhere that is not within a short walk of a train platform. For the downtown side of the trip, see our Union Station limo page.

Departures: getting to Pearson on time
Leaving for the airport follows the same logic in reverse. Ask your airline how early to arrive for your flight type, then add the road time with a cushion at the busy hours. The roads that most often delay airport-bound cars are the 401 through Toronto, the 427 and the airport spur. Morning departures from the northern 905 or from Markham should leave earlier than the clock suggests, because the 404 and the 401 collectors fill by 6:30 am.

Departure drop-offs go to the departures level at your terminal. The chauffeur handles the bags and you go straight to check-in. Tell dispatch if a flight time changes, because a rebooking beats a missed connection.
What the chauffeur handles that a rideshare does not
- A tracked flight. If your plane diverts, circles or lands early, dispatch sees it.
- Waiting time already included. You do not watch a meter or rebook a car while you queue at customs.
- A vehicle sized for the luggage. An Executive Sedan takes up to 3 passengers and two large and two carry-on bags; a Luxury SUV takes up to 6 and five to six large bags; For 12 to 14 people, the executive Sprinter takes a dozen or more bags as well.
- Child seats. Child, toddler and booster seats are fitted when you request them at booking.
- A meet-and-greet option. A name-board service inside arrivals is available as an add-on.
- A fixed fare. The exact amount appears in the booker before you pay.
If you want hourly vehicles from the airport, a stretch limousine or a mini-coach party bus can be arranged, but availability and the exact vehicle are confirmed at booking. Read the fleet page for what each class does.
Pearson limo vs taxi, rideshare, UP Express and rental car

| Option | Time to downtown | Cost character | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| UP Express | About 28 minutes (operator) | Lowest | One traveller, light bags, destination near Union Station |
| GO Transit and TTC | Longer, with transfers | Lowest | Patient travellers with little luggage |
| Taxi from the stand | 30 to 50 minutes | Meter plus extras | Spur-of-the-moment trips |
| Rideshare | 30 to 50 minutes plus pickup wait | Meter-like with surge | Short off-peak trips |
| Hotel shuttle | Depends on the route | Often included | Guests whose hotel offers one |
| Rental car | 30 to 50 minutes plus parking | Variable | Multi-day travel beyond the city |
| Pre-booked chauffeur | 30 to 50 minutes, no queue | Fixed fare via booker | Groups, families, late arrivals, formal arrivals |
The GO Transit website is useful for regional trips from Union Station, including service toward Hamilton and Niagara. For a one-person arrival that ends at a downtown hotel, the train is hard to beat. When bags, children, a business suit and a morning meeting are involved, the car takes over.
Arriving from the United States, Asia or Europe
Transborder arrivals and long-haul flights follow the same booking, but the waiting window matters more. Passengers on international flights move through Canadian border services before they reach the pre-arranged area, and the line length varies by arrival bank. Our 60 minutes of free waiting for international arrivals is there so that nobody has to guess.
If you are connecting by car to the border, note that cross-border trips are part of our service. Passengers need valid travel documents, and the Government of Canada's entry guidance for Canadians travelling to the US explains that a valid passport or a trusted traveller card is needed for land travel. For live crossing conditions at Niagara, see the CBSA's border wait times. The Buffalo airport limo page covers the trip from Pearson.
Corporate and VIP arrivals at YYZ
Executives often land, meet a team and go straight to a hotel or boardroom. For these arrivals, dispatch can arrange the meet-and-greet add-on, a vehicle sized for the party and a single contact for the whole itinerary. Corporate accounts and repeat travellers can also be set up; see corporate car service and black car service Toronto.
Delegations and film crews usually combine an Executive Sprinter with a Luxury SUV for VIPs, and the pickup order is planned in advance so no one waits for the second vehicle. Details of that approach are on Sprinter van rental.
Families, children and car seats
Tired children and a luggage trolley are the hardest part of an arrival. Request the correct child, toddler or booster seat when you book and the car is ready when you walk out. Give the child's age in the booking, because the right seat depends on it. The SUV is the common pick for a family of five with luggage; an Executive Sedan is better for a couple with a toddler and two large bags. More at car service with car seat.
Weather, rush hour and the real clock
Pearson's road network is dense. The 401, 427, 409 and QEW meet within a few kilometres of the terminals, and a single stalled vehicle can ripple through all of them. Snow squalls, summer construction and big events downtown (concerts, matches and festivals) alter travel time unpredictably, so chauffeurs watch live traffic and leave a margin. If you have a tight connection or a ceremony start, say so in the booking notes and dispatch will plan for it.
Licensed and insured
Toronto requires that anyone who owns a limousine used for paid driving be licensed. The City's limousine owner page also says owners must provide commercial liability insurance and an annual vehicle inspection certificate. Our vehicles and chauffeurs are licensed and commercially insured. For more about the company, see about us. If your trip is mainly around the city, limo service Toronto is the broader guide, and airport limo Toronto compares Pearson with the other airports in the region.
Cancellations
The policy is measured from the scheduled pickup time. More than 72 hours' notice: no charge. 72 hours or less: 10%. 48 hours or less: 50%. 24 hours or less, or a no-show: 100%.
