What does an Oshawa Executive Airport limo pickup involve?

You book a car on TorontoBlackLimousine.net with your aircraft registration, estimated arrival time and the handling company, and a chauffeur meets you at Oshawa Executive Airport after any customs step. Distance and drive time are shown up front, and the exact fare is fixed before you pay.

Oshawa Executive Airport is a working general-aviation field. There is no airline terminal queue, no baggage hall and no scheduled service; the City of Oshawa states plainly that there are no scheduled passenger flights and no plans for any. What you find instead is a 484-acre airport that the city describes as supporting corporate business travel and general aviation, a modern terminal building, a large hangar inventory and a full-service fixed-base operator that the city says is open around the clock.

That shapes the pickup. The question is not "which door at arrivals" but "which handler, which hour and which customs window". This page answers those for Oshawa, and then covers the trips clients actually make from here: Whitby and Ajax, Pickering, Markham, Scarborough, downtown Toronto and the Kawarthas. When you are ready, get an instant fare and the booker shows the exact all-in fare for your address and vehicle before you confirm.

Who uses Oshawa, and why it suits the east GTA

The airport sits at 1200 Airport Boulevard, in Oshawa's north end, about 7 km from downtown Oshawa and about 3.5 km from the Ontario Tech University campus at 2000 Simcoe Street North. It opened in June 1941 as No. 20 Elementary Flying Training School, R.C.A.F. Station Oshawa, and the City of Oshawa took control in 1947, according to the city's own airport page. Today the city lists passenger charter, air ambulance, freight, aerial police operations, flight training and aircraft maintenance among its activities. It also describes the airport as Ontario's largest general-aviation and corporate-only airport.

For a visitor, the point is geography. Oshawa is the east edge of the Greater Toronto Area, so a flight into this field avoids both the western approach to Pearson and the long drive across the city. If your meetings are in Durham Region, in eastern Markham or Scarborough, or in Peterborough and the Kawarthas, it can be closer than any other business airport. If your meetings are on Bay Street, it is not: Union Station is about 64 km away, and Billy Bishop is about 67 km. Our pages on the Toronto Pearson FBO and Billy Bishop business aviation cover those fields, and the private aviation hub compares all of them.

Handlers, the FBO and who to ask

The city's airport page describes a "full-service fixed-base operator open 24 hours, 365 days a year" offering fuel, maintenance and logistical support, but does not name it. The city's pilot page, in a separate list of service providers, names Enterprise Airlines and SmoothAir Charter among the charter operators, and lists several maintenance, parts, training and hangar businesses. We do not guess which company is handling your aircraft. Ask your flight department or charter broker for the handler's name and tell us at booking, so the chauffeur knows where to go.

The official sources are the city's Oshawa Executive Airport page and its information for pilots. Neither lists a published vehicle-access procedure for the apron. The working rule is the same as at every field we serve: the chauffeur confirms the exact door and waiting spot with the handler on the day, and sends you the confirmation before you land.

Customs at Oshawa, and the night-operations window

If your aircraft is arriving from outside Canada, two published rules matter.

Travellers with luggage walking through an arrivals hall
Travellers with luggage walking through an arrivals hall

First, customs. The city's pilot page describes on-site Canada Border Services Agency service, available seven days a week from 8:30 a.m. to midnight, by appointment only. "By appointment" means your pilot or operator arranges it in advance; it is not a walk-up counter.

Second, night operations. The city's airport page says the Nav Canada control tower operates from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., and that voluntary flight restrictions run from 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., limiting flights to police, medical and industrial flights and aircraft based at Oshawa. The pilot page adds that flights in that window need prior permission from the airport manager. A late arrival into Oshawa is therefore something to plan with the airport, not something to hope for.

The CBSA itself sets out the telephone-reporting method for private and corporate aircraft in Memorandum D2-5-12: the pilot reports at least 2 hours and no more than 48 hours before arrival, calls again on landing, and nobody leaves the aircraft until the CBSA says so. That method covers private or corporate aircraft carrying 15 people or fewer including crew; charters and aircraft that carry paying passengers are handled differently. Your operator handles all of this. We take over once you are released, and international arrivals carry 60 minutes of free waiting after landing (30 minutes for domestic).

What to put in the booking notes

A few details turn a general booking into a clean aircraft pickup:

  1. Aircraft registration and the estimated arrival time.
  2. The handler or FBO name at Oshawa.
  3. Whether the flight is domestic or international.
  4. The number of passengers and bags, including golf clubs, trade-show cases or sample boxes.
  5. Your destination, or the first stop of a multi-stop day.
  6. For a departure, the time the aircraft will be ready and the pickup address.

Passengers need valid travel documents for international arrivals. For a US departure, check the destination country's entry rules before you go.

Drive times from Oshawa Executive Airport

Distances are by road from the airport; times are free-flow. Highway 401 and the Highway 407 east corridor are the main routes, and the chauffeur chooses the one that is moving. Allowances for heavy traffic are our planning ranges.

Oshawa and Durham: campuses, arenas and local business

Within Oshawa itself the trips are short and frequent. Ontario Tech University is the nearest anchor. Tribute Communities Centre, at 99 Athol Street East, is the downtown arena and lists the Oshawa Generals and the Oshawa FireWolves among its tenants; our concert and sports limo page explains how we handle pickup after events. For wider coverage of the city and its neighbour, see Oshawa and Whitby limo and Pickering and Ajax limo.

Typical Durham assignments for visitors who land at Oshawa include:

  • A day of site visits across Durham, with the car and chauffeur held by the hour. The hourly chauffeur page explains how stops and waiting time are planned.
  • A university visit, a board meeting or a client lunch, followed by a return flight the same afternoon.
  • A weekend wedding or celebration; see wedding limo for timelines and multi-vehicle planning.
  • A memorial or funeral, where punctuality and discretion matter more than anything: funeral limo describes how we work with families and funeral homes.

Oshawa to Markham, Scarborough and the north GTA

Markham is a surprisingly good match. The city centre is about 43 km from the airport and about 38 minutes in free flow, and the Highway 7 and Highway 404 corridor sits on the same side of the region. Our Markham limo page describes the corridor; Pacific Mall and Unionville is a good example of a leisure day that follows a business arrival. Clients staying at the Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites Conference Centre or the Sheraton Parkway Toronto North are well placed for a Markham or Richmond Hill programme.

Light trails on a highway at night
Light trails on a highway at night

Scarborough is about 40 km away by road to Scarborough Town Centre, with the 401 doing most of the work. Our Scarborough limo page covers the Bluffs, the Zoo and the Town Centre; Scarborough Bluffs viewpoints and Toronto Zoo family day show how an arrival day becomes a leisure day. North of Markham, Newmarket and Aurora are about 74 km from the field to Newmarket, which is a long but direct drive for a delegation.

Oshawa to Union Station and downtown Toronto

For a Bay Street day, the run is about 64 km and about 55 minutes in free flow, with 80 to 120 minutes a realistic range when the 401 is heavy. If downtown is the whole point of the trip, Billy Bishop is only minutes from the financial district; Oshawa wins when the east end is where you are going. If you are staying downtown, Fairmont Royal York and Hotel X Toronto are examples of addresses we serve, and Toronto Union Station is the usual rail hub. The broader flagship page is limo service Toronto, and the area hub is the GTA.

Oshawa to Port Perry, Uxbridge and the Kawarthas

North of the airport, the landscape turns rural quickly. Port Perry is about 21 km and about 25 minutes away; Uxbridge is about 34 km and about 35 minutes; Peterborough is about 72 km and about 63 minutes. That makes Oshawa a practical arrival point for lake-country weekends, cottage handovers and day trips to the Lift Lock. Our Peterborough and the Kawarthas limo page covers the area, and the Kawarthas Lift Lock guide describes the day by the numbers. Ski and cottage runs are on ski and cottage transfers.

Choosing the right vehicle

Aircraft parties vary widely. A simple guide:

  • Executive Sedan: three passengers, with two large bags and two carry-ons. Right for a principal and an assistant.
  • Luxury SUV: six passengers and five to six large bags, the usual choice for a family or a small delegation.
  • Executive Sprinter: 12 to 14 seats and a dozen or more cases, for crews, teams and wedding groups.
  • Stretch limousine and mini-coach or party bus: booked by the hour for events; availability and the exact vehicle are confirmed at booking.

The full list is on the fleet page. If you are travelling with children, ask at booking for child, toddler or booster seats.

How the options compare

Honesty first: if your crew has a rental or the handler has arranged a courtesy car, and the trip is short, that is often the sensible answer. The table shows where a private chauffeur adds value and where it does not.

GO Transit rail plus a taxi to the airportBudget, no luggageLowestSlow and awkward for a flight-day schedule
Private chauffeur through TorontoBlackLimousine.netPrincipals, hard cases, multi-stop daysFixed fare via the bookerNeeds the handler and aircraft details at booking

Public transit is the lowest cost option and the slowest for a flight-day schedule. For a direct, scheduled run with a car waiting at the door, the fixed-fare route removes the guesswork.

When the schedule moves

Private aircraft do not run to timetables. A delay at the departure field, a change of destination or a late clearance can shift an arrival by hours. We track the aircraft and adjust the chauffeur's dispatch to match. For arrivals in the evening, keep the tower closing time of 10:30 p.m. in mind, along with the night-operations rules above; if your plans may run late, raise it with the airport manager before you commit.

The cancellation scale runs from the scheduled pickup time: no charge beyond 72 hours; 10% at 72 hours or less; 50% at 48 hours or less; 100% at 24 hours or less or on a no-show. A delayed aircraft is a call to dispatch, not a cancellation.

Hourly and multi-stop days from Oshawa

The most valuable use of a chauffeur after a private-aircraft arrival is a day of stops. A typical shape is a morning meeting in Whitby, a late lunch in Markham, a site visit in Scarborough and the aircraft again at dusk. That is a corporate car service booking, with a driver who knows the 401 and 407 corridors and who holds the vehicle at each stop. Our Toronto car service page explains how daily accounts work for repeat travellers. For help with a long itinerary, the travel desk can plan it with you.

Frequently asked questions

Do you pick up at Oshawa Executive Airport?

Yes. Give us the aircraft registration, the handler's name and the estimated arrival time at booking. The chauffeur confirms the exact door with the handler and sends you the details before you land.

Are there scheduled flights into Oshawa?

No. The City of Oshawa states there are no scheduled passenger flights and no plans for them. The airport handles corporate and general aviation, charter, air ambulance and freight, so the pickup is at the handler, not an airline terminal.

What are the customs hours at Oshawa Executive Airport?

The city's pilot page lists on-site CBSA service seven days a week from 8:30 a.m. to midnight, by appointment only. Your operator arranges it in advance. Confirm current hours with the city or the CBSA before you fly.

How far is Oshawa Executive Airport from downtown Toronto?

About 64 km to Union Station, roughly 55 minutes in free flow and 80 to 120 minutes when the 401 is heavy. The exact fare appears in the booker before you commit.

Can I land at Oshawa late at night?

Not freely. The city's airport page describes voluntary restrictions from 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., and its pilot page says flights in that window need the airport manager's prior permission. Plan with the airport first.

How long is the drive from Oshawa to Markham?

About 43 km and about 38 minutes in free flow, and 60 to 85 minutes in heavy traffic. The booker gives the exact fare for your address and vehicle.

Can you take a large group or golf bags?

Yes. The Luxury SUV is built for six people and five or six large bags; the Executive Sprinter handles 12 to 14 people and a dozen bags or more. List your luggage when you book.

How does the cancellation policy work?

No charge if you cancel more than 72 hours ahead. After that it is 10% at 72 hours or less, 50% at 48 hours or less, and 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show, all measured from the scheduled pickup.
