What does a limousine to Sherbrooke and the Eastern Townships involve?

A limousine to Sherbrooke or the Eastern Townships is a pre-booked chauffeur transfer from Montréal, Trudeau airport or another Québec pickup to Bromont, Magog, Orford, North Hatley or Sherbrooke. Autoroute 10 runs about 145 km end to end, and the booker shows one fixed fare for your exact address before you pay.

The Eastern Townships (Cantons-de-l'Est in French) is the part of southern Québec between the Montérégie plain and the Vermont and New Hampshire borders. Tourism Eastern Townships divides it into nine territories, from Brome-Missisquoi in the west to the Mégantic Region in the east. For a visitor from Toronto, Ottawa or the United States, it is the easiest large leisure region to reach from Montréal, and it is also the one where a car makes the most difference once you arrive. Vineyards, ski hills, lakeside inns and farm-gate food stops are spread across rolling country, and almost none of it is near a train line.

That is the job of this page: limousine Sherbrooke and the surrounding towns, booked through our Toronto dispatch, driven by a licensed and commercially insured chauffeur, and quoted as a fixed fare before you commit. If you only need the fare, the booker is the fastest way to see it.

Distances from Montréal to the main Townships stops

Most Townships trips start in Montréal, either at the airport or downtown, and head east on Autoroute 10. Published road figures vary a little with the starting point, so treat the numbers below as planning figures rather than promises. The booker calculates the exact route for your pickup and drop-off address.

Add time for Friday-afternoon traffic leaving Montréal over the Champlain Bridge and for the Sunday-evening return. Dispatch builds that into your pickup time when you book.

Limousine Sherbrooke: the city and its two universities

Sherbrooke is the largest city in the region and the natural base for anyone whose business is in the Townships rather than just passing through. Tourism Eastern Townships features its heritage architecture, and it is also a university city. People book a Sherbrooke black car for graduations, thesis defences, hospital visits, corporate meetings and the plain fact that an arrival at the airport in Montréal is a long way from a morning appointment in the east.

From Montréal, Sherbrooke is about 150 km, usually 1 h 30 to 1 h 45 on Autoroute 10, and the autoroute ends where it meets Autoroute 55 and the city's feeder roads. A published guide to the city describes it as roughly ninety minutes from Montréal in normal traffic, which matches what a chauffeur sees on a quiet weekday. A Sherbrooke pickup works in both directions: we take you from the city to Montréal's Trudeau airport (a little over 150 km, roughly 1 h 45 to 2 hours) for an early flight, or collect an arriving party and drive them east.

Our chauffeurs plan Sherbrooke jobs around the destination, not the town centre. Hospital and university addresses have specific drop-off points. Tell the booker the exact address and, for a group, whether anyone needs step-free access.

Magog, Lac Memphrémagog and Orford

Magog sits at the northern end of Lake Memphrémagog, a long lake that Tourisme Memphrémagog describes as stretching over 40 km, with Mont Orford and Owl's Head in the background. The tourism region covers 17 municipalities along 35 km of the border, grouped into the Magog-Orford, Border Region, Massawippi Valley and Missisquoi Valley areas.

Magog is about 120 km from Montréal, roughly 1 h 20 in normal conditions. It is a lakeside town with a walkable centre, which is why it is the most common choice for a weekend away where nobody wants to move the car once they arrive. The ride from Magog out to the ski and hiking terrain around Orford is a short hop north of town, and Mont-Orford national park lies just beyond it.

If your party sleeps in two properties, book two vehicles from the same Montréal pickup, or one Luxury SUV to the first stop and a second leg arranged from there.

Bromont and the western gateway

Bromont is the first major Townships stop after Montréal, about 87 km from downtown and roughly an hour on the autoroute. The Autoroute 10 kilometre markers put it at around km 74, which is the point where the road starts to climb into the Appalachian foothills. It is the right choice for a day trip or a spa weekend when you want to be in countryside quickly.

Many visitors treat Bromont as a base for the Brome-Missisquoi side of the region: vineyards, orchards, cheese makers and farm shops that are closer to the Vermont line than to Sherbrooke. Because those places sit on rural roads, they are the part of the Townships where a chauffeur adds the most value. A stop that is 10 minutes from the autoroute on a gravel-edged concession road is awkward in an unfamiliar rental, and the narrow farm lanes are easy to miss at dusk.

A Bromont day trip from Montréal is about 87 km each way, roughly two hours of driving in total. Longer stays can use a one-way booking in each direction so the chauffeur is not waiting around for you.

Wine route limousine: Brome-Missisquoi and beyond

The Eastern Townships calls itself the first wine region of Québec, and the Route des vins de Brome-Missisquoi is the part most visitors mean when they say wine route. Its operator describes a marked 160 km tourist trail linking about two dozen wineries around Dunham, Frelighsburg and Stanbridge East. Dunham is about 88 km from Montréal by road, roughly 1 h 15.

The point of a wine route limo is simple: the person who tastes should not be the person who drives. Ontario and Québec law decides what can be consumed on board a vehicle, and we confirm that at booking rather than promising anything in advance. A winery visit does not need that anyway. A tasting happens at the cellar door, then the group rides on to lunch.

Opening times vary by season. Some cellars close earlier in the week or require a reservation, and the wine route's own site shows live opening status for several estates. We recommend booking the vineyard visits first and the vehicle second, then giving the dispatcher the confirmed times so the pickup windows line up. Our wine tour limo page covers tasting etiquette and how to pace a four-stop day.

For a longer itinerary that combines the vineyards with a lakeside dinner in Magog, ask for an hourly booking so the vehicle stays with you between stops. Hourly options and the vehicle classes available for them are confirmed at booking.

North Hatley, Lake Massawippi and the quieter east

The Massawippi Valley is one of the four areas in the Memphrémagog tourism region, and North Hatley is its best-known village: a lakeside settlement of inns, restaurants and galleries. It has a different character from Magog. It is smaller, quieter, and popular for anniversary dinners and elopement-style weddings.

North Hatley lies south of Sherbrooke, so the usual route from Montréal is to follow Autoroute 10 to the Sherbrooke end and then drive south on local roads. The booker calculates the exact distance for the inn or restaurant you name, and the chauffeur confirms the final approach, which on some lakefront streets involves a short walk from the nearest legal drop-off.

For a dinner booking, the useful instruction is to give the dispatcher the reservation time, not the pickup time. We work backwards from the table, add the traffic allowance for the Montréal departure, and quote the full return so the vehicle is waiting when the evening ends.

Ski season and winter driving in the Townships

Bromont, Orford and the hills around Sutton and Owl's Head make this one of the most convenient ski regions for Montréal. The A-10 serves the ski areas directly, and most trips from the city take between one and two hours. The conditions are the issue, not the distance.

Québec requires winter tires on vehicles registered in the province from December 1 to March 15, rental vehicles included, according to the provincial government. That rule exists because mountain approach roads in the Townships can be icy while the autoroute is dry. If you are travelling to a ski hill in January, tell the desk where you are going and what you are carrying. A Luxury SUV takes up to six passengers with five or six large bags, which is the right class for a family with ski bags or a group of four skiers with boot bags. An Executive Sprinter seats 12 to 14 for a company ski day, with room for 12 or more bags.

Dispatch watches the road conditions on the day. If a storm closes a stretch of route, we decide with you whether to leave earlier, later or by a different road, rather than leaving that to guesswork in the vehicle. Our ski and cottage transfer page goes further into gear, timing and shuttle logistics.

Weddings and events in the Townships

The Eastern Townships has a busy wedding season, with barn venues, vineyard terraces, lakeside inns and manor properties all within about two hours of Montréal. A couple booking transport for a Townships wedding usually needs three things: a ceremony arrival, a photo stop between the ceremony and the reception, and a departure at night.

We build the timeline backwards from the ceremony time. The vehicle arrives early enough to be parked and clean before the couple is ready, waits through the ceremony if the booking says so, and runs the photo stop as an agreed window rather than an open-ended wait. For a Montréal-based wedding party travelling out for the day, a separate vehicle for the guests keeps the wedding car free for the couple. See our wedding limo page for timelines and multi-vehicle planning.

Airport and station pickups for the Townships

Most guests arrive in Québec by air, and for the Eastern Townships the usual arrival point is Montréal–Trudeau. Every airport pickup includes flight tracking, so the chauffeur knows if the plane lands early or late. International arrivals include 60 minutes of free waiting after landing, and domestic arrivals include 30 minutes. A name-board meet-and-greet inside arrivals is available as an add-on, which is useful for first-time visitors and for families with children and car seats. Our Trudeau airport page explains the arrival zones and customs timing in detail.

Trudeau to Bromont is about 100 km, roughly 1 h 10. Trudeau to Magog and Sherbrooke follow the same autoroute for most of the way, so the total time is the Bromont time plus the remaining kilometres. A Montréal downtown hotel pickup, such as one arranged through our Montréal limo service, saves the airport leg if you are staying overnight in the city first. Passengers from the South Shore can use the Longueuil and South Shore page for local pickups before joining Autoroute 10.

Honest comparison: how to get to the Townships

The lowest-cost way is not always the best way, and this region is a good example. Public transport reaches the larger towns but not the vineyards, the ski base lodges or the lakefront inns.

If you are travelling alone to downtown Sherbrooke and have no luggage to speak of, the bus is the better choice on price. Once you have a group, a ski bag, a tasting itinerary or a late return, a private car becomes the practical option. We say so plainly because it helps you choose well.

Vehicles for the Eastern Townships

Our vehicle classes cover most Townships trips. An Executive Sedan takes up to three passengers with two large and two carry-on bags. The luxury SUV takes six travellers and five or six checked bags. An Executive Sprinter takes 12 to 14 and over a dozen bags. A stretch limousine seats 8 to 10 and a mini-coach or party bus holds 20 to 30; both are booked by the hour, and availability and the exact vehicle are confirmed at booking. Child, toddler and booster seats are provided when requested at booking, and the full line-up is on our fleet page.

Booking, language and cancellation

You book the Eastern Townships the same way as any other trip: enter the pickup, the destination and the date in the booker, choose a vehicle, and see the fixed all-in fare for that exact address before you pay. Service in English and French is available in Québec, and 24/7 dispatch handles changes on the day. Cancellation is measured from the scheduled pickup time. More than 72 hours' notice carries no charge; 72 hours or less is 10%; 48 hours or less is 50%; 24 hours or less or a no-show is 100%.

For the full Québec network, see our Québec limo hub, and for the dedicated corridor page, read the Montréal to Eastern Townships route. Trip planning for the region is also covered by Tourism Eastern Townships, and the Brome-Missisquoi wine route publishes live opening status for its wineries. For the lake and mountain side, Tourisme Memphrémagog describes the Magog-Orford area, and the Québec government lists the winter tire requirements.

Frequently asked questions

How long is the drive from Montréal to Sherbrooke by limousine?

Montréal to Sherbrooke is about 150 km, usually 1 h 30 to 1 h 45 on Autoroute 10, depending on traffic leaving the city. The booker shows the exact fare for your pickup and drop-off address and vehicle before you confirm.

How much is a limo from Montréal to Bromont or Magog?

Bromont is about 87 km from downtown Montréal (roughly one hour) and Magog is about 120 km (roughly 1 h 20). Every fare is a fixed all-in fare calculated for your exact address in the booker, so the quote you see is the quote you pay.

Can you pick me up at Montréal–Trudeau and drive me to the Eastern Townships?

Yes. Every flight is tracked, and the chauffeur waits at no charge for an hour after an international landing or half an hour after a domestic one. Trudeau to Bromont is about 100 km and roughly 1 h 10, and Magog and Sherbrooke follow the same autoroute.

Do you offer a wine route limousine in Brome-Missisquoi?

Yes, on an hourly or point-to-point basis. The marked wine route is about 160 km and links roughly two dozen wineries around Dunham, Frelighsburg and Stanbridge East. Dunham is about 88 km from Montréal. Alcohol rules follow Québec law and are confirmed at booking.

Is a limo better than the bus to Sherbrooke?

For one traveller going to the city centre, the intercity bus is the lowest-cost choice and takes about two hours. A private car wins when you have a group, ski bags, luggage, a vineyard itinerary or a late return that the bus timetable cannot cover.

Can you drive in winter to Bromont, Orford and the ski hills?

Yes. Québec requires winter tires on Québec-registered vehicles from December 1 to March 15, and mountain approach roads can be icy while the autoroute is clear. Tell the desk your destination and dispatch plans the timing and vehicle around conditions on the day.

Do your chauffeurs speak French in the Eastern Townships?

Service is available in English and French in Québec. A chauffeur who speaks both languages helps when a rural inn or winery gives directions only in French.

What vehicle should I book for a group going to Magog?

Up to three passengers fit an Executive Sedan, up to six fit a Luxury SUV, and 12 to 14 fit an Executive Sprinter. Stretch limousines and party buses are booked by the hour, and availability and the exact vehicle are confirmed at booking.

What is your cancellation policy for Townships trips?

More than 72 hours' notice carries no charge; 72 hours or less is 10%; 48 hours or less is 50%; 24 hours or less or a no-show is 100%, measured from the scheduled pickup time.
