An outdoor concert on the Toronto waterfront is one of the best evenings of the summer and one of the hardest to plan by car. RBC Amphitheatre, the Ontario Place concert venue long known as Budweiser Stage, has no public parking and a mass exit that sends thousands of people along the same walkways at once. The venue itself tells ticket holders to take transit or a rideshare.

This guide is written from the kerb. It explains where the car stops, what the venue publishes about its pick-up and drop-off area, how the GO and TTC options compare, what to carry through the gate, and when the better answer is not a limousine at all. It is useful whether or not you book with us.

How do you get to RBC Amphitheatre for a concert?

Use the pick-up and drop-off area the venue publishes, a short walk east of the main gates at Ontario Place, or take GO to Exhibition Station and walk south. By limo, your chauffeur drops you there and meets you on a quieter road afterwards. From Pearson the drive is about 24 km.

Public parking is not available at Ontario Place on event nights. The only exception is accessible parking for ticket holders who arrange it in advance. For everyone else, the choice is between a train, a streetcar or bus, a rideshare or taxi, a walk and a private vehicle. When you want a car, get an instant fare and add the show's end time so dispatch can plan the return.

The venue, its name and what the venue says about its future

Two addresses appear on the official pages. The amphitheatre lists 909 Lakeshore Boulevard West, while Ontario Place lists 955 Lake Shore Boulevard West. Both are on the same grounds, and either works for navigation. The venue was formerly Budweiser Stage and is now RBC Amphitheatre.

The amphitheatre's own website carries a notice about the longer term. It says the venue is expected to close for renovations for the 2028 season, reopen as an outdoor venue in summer 2029 and have year-round capabilities by summer 2030. Its listings already run into summer 2027. As with every event, check the official site for current dates; we never quote show dates or lineups here, and ticket policies are set by the venue.

The venue strongly encourages transit or rideshare because of construction and event congestion in the area. Give yourself time and check your route before you leave.

Why there is no parking, and what to do about it

The venue's pages are blunt: there is no general public parking at the venue or at Ontario Place on event nights. The one exception is accessible parking, sold in advance while spaces remain and often sold out. The venue's guidance for everyone else is to use Green P or Impark to find a public lot, double-check the route and allow for delays.

That leaves two sensible approaches. One is to park in a public lot elsewhere and take transit or a short ride. The other is to skip the driving entirely and let a chauffeur handle it. A chauffeur does not need a parking space because the car goes away after the drop-off, which is the main reason this venue is a good fit for a private car for a group.

Drop-off and pick-up: the area the venue publishes

The most useful fact on the venue's pages is this: the pick-up and drop-off, rideshare and taxi area is a short walk to the east of the main gates. Visitors are asked to follow the designated pedestrian walkways. A chauffeur can use that area for a drop-off and the same road network for a pickup, subject to the instructions of the staff and officers on the night.

Two related details from the official pages:

  • Walkers coming from the east should use the east pedestrian and bicycle entrance, directly across from Hotel X, at the intersection of Lakeshore and Ontario Place Boulevard.
  • Bicycle parking is at the Toronto Inukshuk Park, east of the venue, and Bike Share Toronto stations are nearby.

For a private car, we recommend a drop-off at the published area and a pickup agreed with your chauffeur on the day. The chauffeur confirms the exact spot with you because crowd control and road use change from show to show.

Transit: GO, the 509 and the long walk south

The venue lists GO Transit as the leading option. Take a Lakeshore line train to Exhibition GO Station, then walk south through Exhibition Place to the Ontario Place main entrance. The venue says trains run about every 30 minutes. From Union Station you can instead take the 509 Harbourfront streetcar to the Exhibition loop and walk south through the grounds.

The venue also names the 29 Dufferin bus from Dufferin Station on Line 2, which you leave at Manitoba Drive at Nova Scotia Avenue, on the east side, before walking south over the Lake Shore bridge. Ontario Place lists TTC routes 29, 63, 504B, 509 and 511 as a 10 to 15 minute walk away, and the venue's visitor page noted that 511 Bathurst streetcar service was suspended, with replacement buses in effect, when it was written.

The walk is the part people underestimate. After the show it is a slow shuffle in a large crowd, and Exhibition GO Station is where much of it ends up. Check live service at GO Transit and the TTC before you leave.

Driving in: Pearson, Union Station and the suburbs

Typical trips by car:

Grand hall of a historic railway station
Grand hall of a historic railway station
  • Pearson to Ontario Place: about 24 km, usually 25–45 minutes. Late afternoon on a show day is the slowest window.
  • Union Station to Ontario Place: roughly 5 km, 10–20 minutes depending on Lake Shore Boulevard.
  • Oakville to Ontario Place: roughly 40 km along the QEW and Gardiner, 35–60 minutes. See our Oakville limo service page.
  • Downtown hotels to Ontario Place: typically 5–15 minutes, depending on the hour.

The roads in and out are the Gardiner Expressway and Lake Shore Boulevard, both of which fill on a concert evening. Tell the booker what time the show starts and when you want to be at the gate, and dispatch works back from there. Our concert and sports limo service page sets out how we handle evenings built around a ticket.

The pickup plan after the encore

The exit is where the evening can go wrong. The venue's walkways funnel into the same few routes, the nearest station is a distance away and the rideshare area fills quickly.

  1. Agree the meeting point beforehand. Your chauffeur will tell you where to walk. Do not expect the car to reach the gate.
  2. Leave a song early, or wait twenty minutes. The first wave out is the biggest. Waiting at the venue or at a nearby cafe is often quicker than queuing.
  3. Use the venue's published route. Follow the designated pedestrian walkways to the pick-up area east of the main gates.
  4. Keep one contact. In a group, one person speaks to the chauffeur.
  5. Hold a fallback. If the road is closed, Exhibition GO Station is the next option.

Cancellations are measured from the scheduled pickup time. More than 72 hours' notice is free; 72 hours or less is 10%; 48 hours or less is 50%; 24 hours or less or a no-show is 100%. Tell dispatch if a show is likely to run late.

What to carry, the lawn and the weather

The venue publishes a strict bag policy. Non-clear small clutches, belt bags and fanny packs up to 6 by 9 inches are allowed, as are clear plastic bags up to 12 by 6 by 12 inches. Backpacks, including clear ones, tote bags, large purses, duffel bags and luggage are not permitted, and everyone is subject to search. The venue is also cashless and entry is by mobile ticket only, so add your tickets to your phone wallet or transfer them before you reach the gate.

Suitcases ready for a trip

This matters for a private car because luggage cannot go in. If you are arriving from the airport, drop the bags at your hotel first. A chauffeur can help you plan that stop.

The lawn and the open-air seating mean the weather affects you. The venue lists Lawn Gate 3 as the place where Guest Services rents lawn chairs. Bring a rain layer, and expect the walk to the car after a storm to feel long. The 100-level seating, the general admission pit and the lawns are not wheelchair accessible, according to the venue.

Accessibility: what the venue publishes

The venue's accessibility guidance says requests should be sent in advance to its accessibility coordinator, with your name, ticket confirmation number, party size and the services you need. Wheelchair escorts to and from the gates are available, and the accessible entrance is at the front of the venue near the Box Office. Guest Services is just inside the entrance. Accessible parking is sold in advance while spots remain and may be waitlisted.

For a car, tell us at booking if a guest uses a wheelchair or needs help, so the drop-off is planned around the nearest suitable approach. Child, toddler and booster seats are provided when you request them at booking. Read the venue's know-before-you-go page before the event.

Groups, bachelorettes and the big-night vehicle

A concert is a group occasion, and a group is where a private vehicle makes sense. With the exact vehicle confirmed at booking, our fleet works like this:

  • Executive Sedan: up to 3 passengers, 2 large and 2 carry-on bags.
  • Luxury SUV: up to 6 passengers, 5–6 large bags.
  • Executive Sprinter: 12–14 passengers, 12+ bags.
  • Stretch Limousine: 8–10 passengers, booked hourly.
  • Mini-coach or party bus: 20–30 passengers, booked hourly.

Stretch limousines, party buses and coaches are subject to availability. See our party bus in Toronto page and the night-out limo service page for dinner-and-concert plans, and the fleet for detail on each class. Alcohol rules follow Ontario law and are confirmed at booking; we do not promise drinks on board. Remember that the venue's own entry rules apply at the gate.

If you live on the Lakeshore line and the last train suits you, GO is the best value. If you are with a group, have a late finish or are arriving from the airport, a car is easier. The UP Express states that Pearson to downtown takes 28 minutes, and you would continue by GO or streetcar. Our Pearson airport limo page covers the airport end.

A concert-night checklist

  1. Add your tickets to your phone wallet, and check the bag rules.
  2. Choose your route: GO, TTC, or a car to the published area.
  3. If you want a car, book and add the show end time.
