Delegates, exhibitors and speakers lose more time at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre to one small mistake than to traffic: they send the car to the wrong building. The centre is one organisation but two addresses, and the buildings face different streets. A chauffeur who has the right door and the right approach for your badge pick-up, your booth or your keynote saves you the walk through the wrong lobby.

This is a curb-level guide to a Metro Toronto Convention Centre limo transfer, written for visitors, event planners and exhibitors. It uses the centre's own published directions, and it says plainly where the train, the SkyWalk or your own feet are the better choice.

North Building or South Building: which door is yours

The Metro Toronto Convention Centre is split into the North Building at 255 Front Street West and the South Building at 222 Bremner Boulevard. The centre's own event listings show that some events use only one building and some use both, so the first job is to read your event's floor plan, not just its name.

The two buildings are close, but they are not the same front door. The North Building faces Front Street, a short walk west of Union Station. The South Building faces Bremner Boulevard, on the Rogers Centre and CN Tower side of the district. If you are booking a car for an exhibitor team, a speaker or a group of delegates, give the chauffeur the building and the name of the hall or ballroom, and we will plan the approach from there.

The centre publishes accessible street-level entrances on Front Street and an internal street on the North side, and on Bremner Boulevard on the South side, plus an accessible entrance from the PATH into the South Building. Guest Services sits on Level 200 in the North Building and Level 500 in the South Building. That detail is worth knowing if a delegate needs a wheelchair on arrival, since the centre lends them as a courtesy.

How long is the drive from Pearson to the convention centre?

The Metro Toronto Convention Centre says it is about 25 minutes from the airport. Toronto Pearson to the downtown core is roughly 27 km, and the realistic range is 30 to 50 minutes depending on the 427 and the Gardiner. Your chauffeur tracks your flight and the booker shows the exact fare before you confirm.

The convention centre's directions for drivers from Pearson are specific. Take Highway 401 east, then Highway 427 south to the Gardiner Expressway. For the North Building, exit at Spadina Avenue and go north. For the South Building, exit at York Street. That is the route a Pearson chauffeur follows unless a closure or a collision changes the plan, and the Gardiner is the part to watch. A lane closure there can add a quarter of an hour on a weekday, and a conference-morning rush adds more.

From Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, the centre's published route heads along Eireann Quay and Lakeshore Boulevard West, then onto Rees Street and Bremner Boulevard. That is about 3 km and often under ten minutes outside peak hours, so an island-airport arrival is the shortest transfer of any airport in this guide. Our page on airport limo service in Toronto compares all the airports that serve the city, and Pearson airport limo service covers the terminal-by-terminal pickup procedure.

What happens when your flight lands: pickup procedure

Every airport pickup we dispatch includes flight tracking, so a delayed arrival does not strand a driver at the curb and an early one does not start a waiting clock. On international arrivals you get 60 minutes of free waiting after landing, and 30 minutes on domestic arrivals. If you want someone holding a name board inside arrivals, a meet-and-greet is available as an add-on, and our meet and greet service page explains how it works.

For a convention trip, two practical habits help. First, book the return as well as the arrival, even if the return is a loose time. Convention days finish late and the pickup point on your last afternoon is much easier to plan from the start. Second, tell us which bag is the display case. A Luxury SUV takes five or six large bags, while an Executive Sedan takes two large and two carry-on bags, so a booth in a box usually moves to an SUV or a van.

Driving to the North Building: the Spadina and Simcoe approach

The centre's directions send a driver coming off the Gardiner to the Spadina Avenue exit, north on Spadina, right onto Front Street, then right onto Simcoe Street, where the North garage entrance is. The streets around it are tight. Front Street carries construction and delivery traffic, cyclists use the lanes and trucks stop at the curb, so a car can rarely sit still for long in front of the main doors.

On the pages we checked, the centre does not publish a general passenger drop-off zone. Its parking page describes the garages and the walking routes, and its accessibility page describes the entrances. So we do not promise a particular curb. What we do is pick the approach the day before, look at the street conditions and agree a meeting point with you. For a speaker who must be inside by a certain minute, that is usually a short walk from the nearest legal stopping place, with the chauffeur on the phone until you are inside.

Driving to the South Building: York Street and Lower Simcoe

For the South Building the centre's directions are different. Exit the Gardiner at York Street and go north through two sets of lights to Bremner Boulevard. Turn left on Bremner, left on Lower Simcoe Street, then right into the South garage. The approach crosses the busy stretch near the Rogers Centre, the CN Tower and Ripley's, so a stadium game or a concert can change the answer entirely. If your convention overlaps a Blue Jays home game or an evening at the arena, we plan the arrival earlier and the departure later.

Our guide to Rogers Centre on a Blue Jays game day explains how those evenings reshape the roads, and the same logic applies to a convention day that ends at five o'clock on a game night.

Parking, garage clearances and why a van may not fit

The centre says it has 1,700 indoor parking spaces between the North and South Buildings, and more than 10,000 spaces within walking distance. All parking is cashless, with attendants on duty from 7 am to 11 pm and automated stations overnight. The North garage has a clearance of 1.9 metres and the South garage 2.0 metres.

That clearance matters if you are planning a group move. Taller vehicles, such as larger vans, mini-coaches and party buses, cannot use the indoor garages, so a group on a Sprinter or a coach is dropped and collected at the street instead of in the garage. An Executive Sprinter seats 12 to 14 passengers with 12 or more bags and is the usual choice for a delegation, but its pickup spot has to be planned for the street. If you think a vehicle is too tall for a particular entrance, ask us when you book. Availability and the exact vehicle are confirmed at booking for coaches and other large vehicles.

The centre also lists nine electric vehicle charging stations with a three-hour limit, but for most delegates the simpler plan is to be dropped at the door and not park at all.

Union Station, the SkyWalk and the PATH: when the train beats the car

Honest advice first: if you are staying downtown or arriving by rail, you may not need a car for the convention centre at all. The centre sits beside Union Station. The North Building is a short walk west along Front Street, and the South Building is a short walk along Bremner Boulevard. The centre describes an indoor route from Union Station through the SkyWalk, with signs to the Convention Centre, and it points to the City of Toronto PATH map for routes from other downtown buildings.

The centre also says GO Transit riders leave Union Station and walk west on Front Street to the North Building, while the South Building is reached by the SkyWalk. For UP Express, you leave the Union UP platform through the SkyWalk corridor, take the stairs or elevator to Lower Simcoe Street and walk west on Front Street to the North Building entrance.

UP Express publishes a trip time of 28 minutes between Pearson Station and Union Station, and the line stops at Pearson, Weston, Mount Dennis, Bloor and Union. For a delegate with one carry-on bag arriving for a single day, that is a very good option. It is not the right option for a team with display cases, for a speaker in formal clothes arriving in winter, or for someone landing late at night. Our page on Toronto Union Station car service explains how pickups work on Front, York and Bay streets when a train is not the answer.

| Option | Typical time | Cost note | Best for | |---|---|---|---| | UP Express and a short walk | About 28 minutes Pearson to Union, then a few minutes on foot | Lowest | One carry-on, solo travellers, daytime arrivals | | Private chauffeur from Pearson | About 25 minutes by the centre's own estimate, 30 to 50 in traffic | Fixed fare via booker | Exhibitors, speakers, groups, late arrivals | | Taxi | Similar to a car, depends on the queue | Meter plus any surcharges | Spontaneous trips, no booking | | Rideshare | Similar, plus wait for a driver | Meter style, can surge at peak times | Short hops, light luggage | | Hotel shuttle | Depends on the hotel | Often included for guests | Hotel guests on a fixed schedule |

Think of this as a decision, not a sales pitch. If you have one bag and a free afternoon, the train and a walk through the SkyWalk is hard to beat. If you carry samples, wear a suit or land after the rush, a booked car is the calm choice.

Exhibitor drop-offs, load-in and the bag problem

Exhibitors have the hardest transfer of the show. The centre has a separate move-in and move-out process for freight and booth materials, and its accessibility page points to "Easy Move In and Out" information. That is a different channel from passenger arrivals, and our chauffeurs are not freight handlers. What we do is carry people and their luggage safely and on time, so the people who set up the booth arrive rested and with their personal bags, hand-carry samples and laptops.

Two tips from the dispatcher's desk: book the team to arrive before the load-in window closes, since the downtown core is slowest between 8 and 9:30 in the morning, and tell us whether anyone carries a roll-up banner, a pop-up display or a tube of print, because those need more room than a sedan has.

Our corporate car service page explains how business accounts and repeat bookings work, and the event transportation page covers multi-day shuttles and staging for larger groups.

Speakers, VIPs and executive delegations

A keynote speaker needs a quiet arrival, a short walk and a calm route out. For that profile we recommend an Executive Sedan or Luxury SUV with the chauffeur holding the car for the full window, which is closer to an hourly booking than a one-way transfer. Our hourly chauffeur page explains how that works across back-to-back meetings. For a delegation of eight to twelve guests, one Executive Sprinter from the hotel to the centre is easier to manage than several cars. Larger groups can ask about a mini-coach, with availability and the exact vehicle confirmed at booking.

Evening events, receptions and late returns

Receptions, gala dinners and award nights make the evening return the busiest hour of the day, because everyone leaves at once and the taxi line is long. Our 24/7 dispatch handles a late finish. Alcohol rules follow Ontario law and are confirmed at booking, and we do not promise drinks on board, but a booked car home is a simple duty-of-care step for any host serving wine.

Accessibility and families

The centre says it is committed to a fully accessible environment, with accessible parking in both garages, 12 spaces on Level 4A of the North garage and 9 spaces in the South garage. If a delegate uses a wheelchair or walker, mention it at booking so the chauffeur is ready to assist at the curb and confirm the right door. Child, toddler and booster seats are available when requested at booking, which helps for delegates who travel with children. Our page on car service with a child seat explains the options.

Weather, winter and the Gardiner

A snow squall on a conference morning changes the schedule completely. The Gardiner slows, Front Street fills and the curb clears more slowly. In winter we ask delegates to leave an extra fifteen to thirty minutes for the journey from Pearson, and we recommend a car, not a streetcar, for anyone in formal clothes.

Official sources and where to book

If you are also heading to a show or game, our guides to Scotiabank Arena pickups and Enercare Centre and Exhibition Place are good next steps, and the events hub lists seasonal guides. For official directions, parking and accessibility details, see the centre's own Getting Here page, its accessibility information, the Metro Toronto Convention Centre homepage and the UP Express site. When you are ready, our booking page shows the exact all-in fare before payment, and the fleet page shows the vehicle classes. Frequently asked questions

How far is the Metro Toronto Convention Centre from Pearson Airport?

It is about 27 km by road and the centre itself says about 25 minutes. In a weekday rush it can be 30 to 50 minutes, depending on the 427 and the Gardiner Expressway. The booker shows the exact fare for your address and vehicle before you confirm.

Which entrance should my limo use, North or South Building?

That depends on your event. The North Building is at 255 Front Street West and the South Building is at 222 Bremner Boulevard. Check your event's floor plan, give us the building and hall name at booking, and your chauffeur will plan the approach. The centre does not publish a passenger drop-off zone, so the exact stopping point is confirmed by the chauffeur on the day.

Is there parking for a limo at the convention centre?

The centre has 1,700 indoor parking spaces, and the garage clearances are 1.9 metres for the North Building and 2.0 metres for the South Building. Taller vehicles such as vans and coaches cannot enter, so they load and unload at the street. Your chauffeur handles the stopping point, so you do not need to park.

Can I take the UP Express or GO train instead?

Yes, and for a single traveller with one bag it is often the best choice. UP Express publishes a trip time of 28 minutes from Pearson to Union Station. From Union you can walk to the North Building along Front Street or take the SkyWalk. A private car wins when you carry display cases, arrive late or travel as a group.

Can you pick up a group from the airport for a conference?

Yes. An Executive Sprinter seats 12 to 14 passengers with 12 or more bags, a Luxury SUV takes up to six, and larger groups can ask about a mini-coach. Flight tracking is included, and you get 60 minutes of free waiting after an international landing and 30 minutes on a domestic one.

Can I cancel or change a convention transfer?

Yes. With more than 72 hours' notice there is no charge. At 72 hours or less the charge is 10 percent, at 48 hours or less it is 50 percent, and at 24 hours or less or a no-show it is 100 percent, measured from the scheduled pickup time.

Is the Metro Toronto Convention Centre wheelchair accessible?

The centre says it is committed to a fully accessible environment, with accessible street-level entrances, accessible parking in both garages and courtesy wheelchairs from Guest Services. Mention any mobility needs when you book, and the chauffeur will assist at the curb.
